Job Overview: The Emergency Technical Assistant plays a crucial role in the implementation of emergency activities as defined by project requirements and technical standards. This position requires the individual to work closely with the Emergency Responseteam leader and contribute to various assessments and distributions aimed at supporting internally displaced persons (IDPs). The role involves maintaining direct contact with beneficiaries and local authorities, ensuring transparent communication regarding entitlements and distribution plans, and participating in the development of distribution lists. The Emergency Technical Assistant is expected to adhere to NRC policies and guidelines while utilizing their technical expertise to support the team effectively. This position is vital for ensuring that emergency responses are conducted efficiently and in alignment with NRC's mission to assist vulnerable populations.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Emergency Technical Assistant is responsible for a range of duties, including but not limited to: assisting with the implementation of the CC portfolio according to the action plan, organizing and delivering tasks in line with priorities and standards, preparing status reports as required, and ensuring proper documentation filing. Specific responsibilities include participating in multi-sector rapid needs assessments, maintaining communication with beneficiaries and local authorities, conducting beneficiary registration surveys using Kobo Collect, ensuring accountability in communication with stakeholders, and compiling distribution documentation. The assistant must ensure that all activities are implemented according to NRC guidelines and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the emergency response team.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Emergency Technical Assistant position should possess a strong background in humanitarian assistance, with experience working in complex and volatile contexts. They should have knowledge and experience in relevant administrative or technical fields, ideally supported by a vocational qualification. Previous experience with beneficiary registration processes, particularly using Kobo Collect, is essential. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate documented results related to the responsibilities of the position and possess fluency in Portuguese, along with basic knowledge of English. A completed secondary school education is also required.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes at least a completed secondary school education. Candidates with vocational qualifications in relevant fields will be preferred, as this will enhance their ability to perform the technical aspects of the role effectively.
