Job Overview: The Administrative and Logistical Support Contractor will play a crucial role in supporting the Investment Promotion Department (IPD) in the implementation of the LIFT 4 Laos initiative. This position requires a proactive individual who can manage logistical and administrative tasks effectively while ensuring smooth coordination among various stakeholders, including provincial authorities, line ministries, and international partners such as ESCAP and DFAT. The contractor will be responsible for maintaining schedules, tracking budgets, and ensuring that all project documentation is comprehensive and accurate. The role also involves organizing meetings, workshops, and events, both in-country and internationally, and providing translation support as needed. The contractor will be expected to deliver outputs within specified timelines and adhere to quality standards set by the UN and its partners.
Duties and Responsibilities: The contractor's duties will include coordinating the daily implementation of the LIFT 4 Laos workplan, maintaining activity schedules, budget tracking sheets, and administrative documentation. They will serve as a liaison for logistical coordination, assist in organizing and documenting meetings and workshops, and support the planning and delivery of events and study tours. Additionally, the contractor will maintain an organized archive of project documentation, prepare administrative inputs for progress reports, assist with procurement and vendor coordination, and ensure compliance with operational guidelines. The contractor will also provide basic translation support for logistical materials and correspondence as needed, ensuring that all arrangements align with the quality and branding standards of ESCAP and DFAT.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree in economics, administration, business, international development, or a related field. A Bachelor's degree may be acceptable if the candidate has at least five years of relevant experience. Experience in providing logistical and administrative support to government agencies or development projects, particularly in investment promotion or economic development, is essential. Candidates should demonstrate strong coordination, organizational, and communication skills, with a proven ability to manage logistics for meetings and events, maintain administrative records, and support procurement processes. Fluency in both Lao and English is mandatory, with the ability to translate and communicate effectively across both languages.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master's degree in a relevant field such as economics, administration, business, or international development. Additional Notes: The contract duration is from November 1, 2025, to April 30, 2026, with an expected initial period of 6 months and the possibility of extension based on performance and project needs. The selected candidate is expected to be based in Vientiane for the duration of the contract and must hold a Laotian passport.
