Job Overview:
The Product Owner position at the EBRD is a critical role within the Information Technology division, focusing on managing product lifecycles and ensuring that products meet user needs and business objectives. The successful candidate will be expected to apply Agile principles effectively, manage product backlogs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products. This role requires a strong understanding of the product lifecycle, from ideation to delivery, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The Product Owner will also be responsible for making data-driven decisions, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring that the product vision aligns with the organization's goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Product Owner include:
  • Applying Agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban in a practical context.
  • Managing the product lifecycle, including backlog management, user story creation, and release planning.
  • Developing and implementing business change management practices to support the adoption of new products.
  • Communicating product vision and requirements clearly to stakeholders.
  • Making data-driven decisions and prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Focusing on user needs and outcomes, defining features based on user feedback.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver product features.
  • Tracking product benefits and monitoring success post-delivery.
  • Supporting project delivery and managing risks within an Agile framework.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a relevant degree in fields such as Business, Computer Science, or Engineering, or have equivalent practical experience in product development or Agile delivery. Additionally, Agile certifications such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar are highly beneficial. Other relevant qualifications, such as certifications in change management or product management, are also advantageous.

Educational Background:
A degree in a relevant field such as Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is required for this position. The educational background should ideally include knowledge of Agile methodologies and product management principles.

Experience:
Candidates should have experience working in Agile environments, either as part of a product team or closely collaborating with Agile teams. Experience in product ownership activities, such as backlog management and defining user stories, is essential. Additionally, some experience interacting with business stakeholders and understanding their needs is required.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and proficiency in additional languages is considered a plus, particularly languages relevant to the EBRD's member countries.

Additional Notes:
This position is a fixed-term contract lasting for 3 years. The EBRD promotes a hybrid working model, expecting employees to work in the office at least 50% of the time.
