Job Overview:
The DevOps Quality Engineer position is crucial for ensuring the reliability and performance of infrastructure at scale. The role involves testing and validating deployments across various environments, including data centers and Azure, to ensure that every release meets high standards of resilience and uptime. The engineer will engage in activities such as Infrastructure as Code (IaC) verification, smoke testing, and automation scripting to safeguard the quality of platforms. This position requires collaboration with multiple teams, including DevOps and Infrastructure, to address issues and improve platform reliability. The engineer will also participate in sprint reviews and planning sessions, contributing to the overall quality assurance strategy within an Agile framework.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The DevOps Quality Engineer will be responsible for planning and executing tests for infrastructure changes and cloud deployments, ensuring both functional and non-functional validations. Key responsibilities include collaborating with DevOps and Infrastructure teams to verify IaC deployments, performing smoke tests post-deployment, and documenting any issues related to platform reliability. The engineer will write and maintain automation scripts for network and platform components, investigate deployment defects, and escalate issues with supporting diagnostics. Additionally, the engineer will engage in sprint reviews, raise risks associated with infrastructure changes, and recommend testing scopes for improvements in cloud services and network resilience.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must hold at least an ISTQB Foundation certification, with Advanced Test Analyst or equivalent certifications being desirable. A qualification in IT Service Management (ITIL v3 or v4 Foundation) or demonstrable experience in integrating QA practices into ITSM processes is required. Familiarity with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and the Digital Operational Resilience Act is essential, along with a solid understanding of automation and non-functional testing concepts. Experience in Agile and DevOps environments is necessary, as well as proficiency in test tooling and CI/CD frameworks such as Azure DevOps, Selenium, and Jenkins. Strong communication skills are also required to effectively convey test scenarios and defects to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Educational Background:
A relevant educational background in computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have a strong foundation in software testing principles and practices, as well as knowledge of cloud technologies and infrastructure management.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have substantial experience working in Agile and DevOps teams, contributing to continuous integration testing strategies. Experience in functional and performance testing of infrastructure deployments is crucial, along with a solid understanding of platform metrics such as uptime and latency. Familiarity with AI/ML use cases in quality engineering is a plus, as is experience with data quality and synthetic data generation tools.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly those relevant to the regions in which the EBRD operates.

This position is a fixed-term contract lasting three years. The EBRD promotes a hybrid working model, expecting employees to work in the office at least 50% of the time.
