Job Overview:
The Prospect Research and Management Specialist plays a crucial role within the IRC's External Relations department, specifically in the Business Operations & Analytics team. This position is designed to enhance the organization's fundraising efforts by identifying and researching potential high-net-worth individual (HNWI) donors primarily located in the East Coast of the United States. The specialist will be responsible for synthesizing data from various sources to provide actionable insights that support the Philanthropy team in diversifying IRC's revenue streams. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build relationships across teams. The specialist will report directly to the Director of Prospect Research and Management and will be instrumental in delivering high-quality research that informs strategic decision-making for donor engagement and fundraising initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Prospect Research and Management Specialist will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to: creating detailed biographical and financial profiles on US-based HNWI donors and prospects; building and maintaining robust pipelines for fundraisers by identifying and qualifying potential donors; implementing and enhancing tools and methods for comprehensive prospect research and portfolio management; integrating data-driven analyses into strategies for client management and revenue maximization; promoting research support services through presentations and reports; collaborating with fundraising colleagues to develop strategic recommendations for donor engagement; managing resources such as CRM databases and subscription services; and conceptualizing and executing special research projects in collaboration with other teams within the organization.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for this position should possess 3 to 4 years of experience in prospect research or lead generation, preferably within a non-profit or corporate environment. A strong understanding of quantitative and qualitative analysis as it pertains to fundraising is essential, along with familiarity with the US market. Proficiency in internet search engines, advanced search techniques, and fundraising software is required. Experience with data retrieval services such as LexisNexis and Salesforce is necessary, as well as a solid command of MS Office applications, particularly Word, Outlook, and Excel. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate strong research and database management skills, the ability to analyze and synthesize data effectively, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as nonprofit management, business administration, or a related discipline is preferred. Candidates with a strong academic background in research methodologies or data analysis will be particularly well-suited for this role.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have a minimum of 3 to 4 years of relevant experience in prospect research or lead generation. This experience should ideally be within the non-profit sector, where candidates have developed a keen understanding of fundraising strategies and donor engagement practices. Familiarity with the philanthropic landscape, particularly in relation to humanitarian aid, will be advantageous.

Languages:
While English is the mandatory language for this position, proficiency in additional languages may be considered a plus, especially if they relate to the communities served by IRC. Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are essential for effective collaboration and reporting.

This position may offer the flexibility of remote work, either full-time or part-time, allowing candidates to effectively manage their work from a home or alternate workspace. The compensation for this role ranges from $72,000 to $85,000, depending on various factors such as the labor market, job type, and individual candidate experience.
