Job Overview: The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is designed to support the partnership function within the Programme Management Support Unit (PMSU) of the UNDP Kenya Office. The PMSU plays a crucial role in supporting the Country Office in areas such as HACT (Harmonized Approach to Cash Transfers), programme finance, results-based management (RBM), and resource management. The intern will be involved in various activities that contribute to the development and implementation of strategies related to partnerships and resource mobilization, as well as knowledge sharing within the organization. This role is essential for enhancing UNDP's visibility and influence with existing and prospective partners, and for supporting the overall mission of the organization in Kenya.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for a range of key functions, including:
Supporting the research, design, and implementation of strategies related to partnership building and resource mobilization.
Conducting research and analysis on traditional and emerging donors to identify opportunities for collaboration.
Assisting in the development of partnership and resource mobilization strategies that align with UNDP's goals.
Monitoring and updating resource mobilization and pipeline data on the UNITY system.
Analyzing key development and sectoral policies in Kenya and identifying potential donors willing to support these initiatives.
Contributing to knowledge networks and communities of practice, and supporting the organization of training sessions for staff on resource mobilization issues.
Synthesizing best practices and lessons learned from partnership-building activities to enhance future efforts.
Required Qualifications: Applicants must meet one of the following educational requirements at the time of application:
Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree.
Be enrolled in a graduate school programme.
Have graduated with a university degree or diploma within the last year. Additionally, a Project Management certification is considered an advantage. The university must be accredited, and the applicant should specialize in fields such as International Relations/Development, Law, or Economics.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this internship includes being enrolled in or having completed a university degree in relevant fields such as International Relations, Development, Law, or Economics. The applicant must be from an accredited university, and those with a Project Management certification will have an added advantage.
