Job Overview: The intern will work under the overall supervision of the Head of Programmes and the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator. The primary focus of this internship is to assist with operational and administrative activities within the Economic Integration Team. The intern will engage in various tasks that support the team's objectives, including proofreading and editing texts, translating documents between English and Portuguese, and managing knowledge by organizing files and keeping documents updated. The role also involves administrative duties such as notetaking during meetings, record keeping, and preparing minutes. The intern will interact with other IOM units and support the migration regularization process, providing guidance to the migrant population. Additionally, the intern will help organize events that promote social cohesion and the socioeconomic integration of migrants, and undertake any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern's duties will include: assisting with the review, proofreading, and editing of texts; supporting the translation of documents from English to Portuguese and vice versa; managing knowledge by organizing files and folders and keeping relevant documents and spreadsheets updated; performing administrative tasks such as notetaking during meetings, maintaining records, and preparing minutes; interacting with other IOM units on relevant activities; supporting the migration regularization process and providing general guidance for the migrant population; assisting in the organization of events aimed at promoting social cohesion and the socioeconomic integration of migrants; and undertaking any other tasks as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications: The position requires candidates to have a high school diploma and to be currently enrolled in a graduate degree program or a postgraduation program in a recognized institution in fields such as Public Administration, International Relations, Social Sciences, Communications, or other related areas. Alternatively, candidates who have graduated with a university degree or postgraduation diploma in these fields within the last year are also eligible. Additionally, candidates must be between 20 and 36 years of age. A specific interest in IOM's programs and activities, as well as professional experience with government institutions, civil society organizations, United Nations agencies, or the private sector, is highly desirable. Background in migration and refugee-related work is considered an asset, along with experience in performing administrative tasks.

Languages: Fluency in Portuguese, both oral and written, is required for this position. Additionally, a working knowledge of English, Spanish, or French is considered a distinct advantage, as IOM's official languages include these three. Proficiency in these languages will enhance the intern's ability to communicate effectively within the organization and with external stakeholders.
Additional Notes: This internship is likely to be part-time, and the duration of the contract may vary. The position is aimed at individuals who are either currently enrolled in a relevant educational program or have recently graduated.
