Job Overview: The Mental Health and Psychosocialcoordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Support Coordinator will play a crucial role in the implementation of IOM’s Mental Health and Psychosocial Programme activities across different regions in Ukraine. This position requires the incumbent to coordinate and monitor the execution of community-based programme activities, ensuring they align with the overall goals and timelines set by IOM. The coordinator will be responsible for supporting the planning and tracking of project components, facilitating smooth implementation, and addressing any challenges that may arise during the process. The role also involves maintaining close communication with relevant colleagues and stakeholders to ensure effective reporting and coordination of activities. The incumbent will work closely with implementing partners and local authorities to enhance the programme's reach and impact, thereby contributing to the overall mission of IOM in promoting mental health and psychosocial support in the region.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Coordinator include:
Coordinating the implementation of IOM’s MHPSS programme activities across various regions in Ukraine.
Supporting the planning, implementation, and monitoring of project components, ensuring alignment with programme goals.
Maintaining communication with implementing partners and reporting any instances of non-compliance or challenges to the supervisor.
Developing and monitoring the team’s activity plan based on identified needs, facilitating smooth implementation, and addressing any bottlenecks.
Providing accurate and timely reporting on team activities and maintaining close communication with relevant colleagues.
Maintaining coordination and partnerships with other IOM units, local authorities, civil society organizations, and community groups.
Participating in quality verification and monitoring of partner activities and supporting the delivery of training according to the capacity building plan.
Managing and documenting programme assets, materials, and spaces, including keeping inventories and administrative records.
Monitoring visibility and branding in all team activities, following IOM guidelines. 1
Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Coordinator position include:
A high school diploma or equivalent with at least six years of relevant experience; or a Bachelor’s degree in clinical, counselling, social or educational psychology, counselling, anthropology, mental health, humanities, or social sciences from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant work experience.
Previous experience supporting Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) programmes is required, with supervisory roles being desirable.
Experience in managing beneficiaries' data, reporting on project activities while adhering to data protection guidelines is required.
Desirable experience includes community-based team supervision, monitoring and evaluation, and working in accordance with the Interagency Standing Committee (IASC) guidelines on MHPSS in emergency settings.
Experience liaising with local government authorities is also desirable.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess either a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification with significant relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as clinical, counselling, social or educational psychology, or other relevant social sciences. The educational background should be from an accredited institution, ensuring that the candidate has a solid foundation in the principles and practices relevant to mental health and psychosocial support.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of six years of relevant experience for candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent, or four years of relevant work experience for those with a Bachelor’s degree. Previous experience in supporting MHPSS programmes is essential, and candidates with supervisory experience will be preferred. Familiarity with data management and reporting in project activities is also crucial, as is experience in community-based supervision and monitoring.
Languages: Fluency in English and Ukrainian is mandatory for this position, both oral and written. This proficiency is essential for effective communication with diverse stakeholders and beneficiaries involved in the MHPSS programme.
Additional Notes: This position is subject to local recruitment, and only candidates holding a valid residence and work permit for Ukraine will be considered. The appointment will be contingent upon certification of medical fitness, verification of residency, visa, and necessary authorizations by the relevant government authorities.
