Job Overview:
The HR Associate position is integral to the Global Shared Service Centre (GSSC) of UNDP, focusing on the implementation of human resources services. The role involves ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures, maintaining the integrity and accuracy of HR services, and providing support to both internal and external clients. The HR Associate will be responsible for various administrative processes, including recruitment, onboarding, contract administration, and benefits management. This position requires a collaborative approach, promoting best practices and knowledge sharing within the HR team and across UNDP offices. The HR Associate will also contribute to the overall HR strategy by meeting work plan deliverables and supporting team coordination.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Administration and implementation of HR strategies and policies, ensuring compliance with UNDP policies and effective internal controls.
  • Provision of recruitment services, including managing recruitment processes, validating job descriptions, screening applicants, and facilitating interview panels.
  • Administration of personnel contracts, including onboarding, contract management, and processing of benefits.
  • Knowledge management, identifying areas for process improvement, and contributing to the development of knowledge articles and training materials.
  • Advising clients on HR policies and procedures, fostering partnerships, and maintaining accurate workforce databases.
  • Tracking recruitment metrics and producing analytics reports to support gender parity and workforce diversity initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a secondary education with at least six years of relevant work experience, or a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or Public Administration with a minimum of three years of relevant experience. Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with digital platforms and web-based management systems are essential. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of HR processes and regulations, ideally within international organizations, and have experience in client service provision and HR management.

Educational Background:
A secondary education is required, with preference given to candidates holding a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Public Administration, or related fields. Specialized certification in HR is highly desirable and will be considered an asset in the selection process.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 3-6 years of experience in client services provision at the national or international level, with specific experience in HR management, recruitment, and benefits administration. Experience in a shared services center or similar structure is advantageous, as is familiarity with UNDP policies and procedures.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is mandatory. Proficiency in other UN languages is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's application.
