Job Overview: The WFP Egypt Country Office is seeking experienced online volunteers to enhance the English language skills of its staff. This role involves working with WFP employees across three proficiency levels: Beginner, Intermediate, and Upper Intermediate. Volunteers will be responsible for conducting assessments, designing customized learning experiences, and facilitating interactive online classes. The primary goal is to achieve a measurable improvement in participants' English communication skills, targeting at least a 30% proficiency increase by the end of the assignment. Volunteers will play a crucial role in empowering WFP staff to communicate effectively, collaborate confidently, and represent the organization with greater impact.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct initial assessments to evaluate the English proficiency of assigned participants and inform course design.
Develop or adapt learning materials tailored to the group's level and professional needs, focusing on practical language use in workplace contexts.
Facilitate two interactive weekly classes (1 hour each) via online platforms, ensuring sessions are engaging and aligned with learning objectives.
Incorporate interactive learning activities such as group discussions, role plays, and case studies to enhance engagement.
Provide short, practical assignments for participants to complete between sessions, offering feedback and guidance to reinforce learning.
Administer a post-assessment to measure progress and provide detailed feedback to participants.
Collaborate with WFP HR focal points to monitor progress and adjust content as needed to align with organizational goals.
Required Qualifications: Volunteers should possess strong English language skills, with a focus on teaching or training experience. Familiarity with online teaching platforms and tools is essential.
