Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is designed to provide graduate-level students and recent graduates with an opportunity to enhance their educational experience through practical work in an international organization. The intern will be placed in the IT unit of the UN Women Regional Office in Istanbul, where they will provide IT services and support to the regional office. This role will allow the intern to work with various new technologies and gain experience in a multicultural team environment. The internship aims to familiarize the intern with administrative and operational processes while providing hands-on experience in Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The intern will engage in tasks that include user support, technology configuration, network optimization, and data analytics, among others. The learning objectives include gaining a deeper understanding of UN Women’s work, ICT management, and networking with other interns and colleagues.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: providing IT user support to internal clients in the regional office, configuring technologies such as Digital Signage and IP Telephony, optimizing network configurations and internet bandwidth, configuring operating systems and automated software installations for Windows and Mac OS, managing audio and video conferencing technologies, offering user guidance on AI and Power BI, conducting data mining and analytics, supporting the ICT team in regular audits for IT compliance, optimizing cloud resources, maintaining IT asset records, and keeping track of security equipment. The intern's responsibilities may be adjusted based on their skills and preferences, allowing for a tailored experience that maximizes their learning and contribution to the team.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong set of qualifications, including excellent research, writing, and organizational skills. They should demonstrate the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders, manage multiple tasks and priorities, and produce high-quality deliverables in a timely manner. The intern should be proactive, able to work independently and collaboratively, and possess strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Additionally, a keen interest in gender issues and sound analytical writing skills are essential for this role.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have university studies in disciplines such as computer science, telecommunications, information technology, or other relevant fields. They should meet one of the following criteria: be enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); be in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent); have graduated with a university degree and must commence the internship within a two-year period of graduation; or be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program that is part of a degree program and undertake the internship as part of the program requirements.

Experience:
The position is aimed at graduate-level students or recent graduates, indicating that candidates should have some level of academic experience in relevant fields. While specific prior work experience is not explicitly required, familiarity with IT services and a strong academic background in related disciplines will be beneficial for the intern's success in this role.

Languages:
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral, are mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as French, Arabic, Chinese, or Spanish, is considered an advantage and may enhance the candidate's application.

Additional Notes:
The internship is designed to provide a stipend to interns who are not receiving financial support from other sources, such as universities or other institutions, to help cover basic living costs during the internship period.
