Job Overview: The analyst" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Assistant Analyst, Payroll plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective execution of the Bank's HR pay and benefits policies and procedures. This position is primarily focused on the operational aspects of payroll and benefits management, requiring the individual to work closely with other payroll team members to resolve day-to-day issues. The Assistant Analyst must be output-driven and adept at meeting strict deadlines, as they will be responsible for entering and validating employee information in the payroll system, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions, and managing all payroll-related aspects of employee contracts. This role also involves providing guidance on leave policies and benefits, validating retirement plan calculations, and producing monthly payroll reports while adhering to strict audit controls.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Assistant Analyst, Payroll will be responsible for a variety of tasks including validating and administering all benefit claims, providing advice on policies, and investigating anomalies in payroll data. They will ensure accurate data entry for all Joiners, Movers, and Leavers (JML) activities, monitor data quality, and ensure that payroll is processed accurately each month. The role requires acting as a center of excellence (COE) for payroll-related inquiries, validating retirement plan calculations, and producing payrolls for headquarters and regional offices. The Assistant Analyst will analyze errors and omissions, prepare payroll recharges and journals, and conduct multi-currency reconciliations of payroll accounts. They will also liaise with third-party service providers and assist in implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess proven professional international payroll experience, ideally within the financial services sector. Strong system skills are essential, particularly with payroll applications such as SAP and Swift. The ideal candidate should demonstrate excellent planning and organizational skills, the ability to prioritize work independently, and a strong attention to detail. Experience with data analysis tools and processes is also required, along with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Strong partnership and influencing skills are necessary for engaging with stakeholders, and excellent communication skills are essential for responding to stakeholder needs.
Educational Background: A relevant degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field is preferred. Professional certifications in payroll management or human resources would be advantageous and demonstrate a commitment to the field.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in payroll administration or a related field, with a strong understanding of payroll processes and compliance requirements. Experience working in a multinational environment is highly desirable, as it provides insight into diverse payroll practices and regulations.
Languages: Fluency in English, both written and oral, is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of additional languages would be considered a plus, particularly those relevant to the regions in which the EBRD operates, as it may enhance communication with diverse stakeholders.
Additional Notes: This position is a short-term contract lasting for 7 months. The EBRD promotes a flexible working environment, expecting employees to work in the office 50% of the time.
