Job Overview: The Management Service Officer position at WFP is designed to provide essential support in delivering high-quality, client-focused services within the Management Services portfolio. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Management Service Officer include:
Assisting in the preparation of Management Services components of WFP’s Country Strategic Planning (CSP) and Resource Planning to ensure alignment with organizational strategies.
Supporting the development of functional annual plans and the implementation of policies, procedures, and standards to meet WFP’s strategic objectives.
Collating data and conducting basic analyses to facilitate efficient planning and decision-making processes.
Identifying resource requirements to enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Maintaining effective working relationships with WFP’s internal and external stakeholders, including other UN agencies and government entities, to foster collaboration and data exchange.
Providing recommendations for improvements in services related to Occupational Safety and Health (OSH).
Promoting a culture of environmental sustainability through role modeling and action.
Utilizing digital tools and applications to enhance operational workflows and customer service.
Assisting in the implementation of UN Reform initiatives aimed at achieving cost savings and improving service quality. 1
Supporting field missions by documenting issues and proposing solutions related to services or products. 1
Organizing learning initiatives to build the capacity of WFP staff and partners in understanding Management Services regulations and procedures. 1
Following emergency preparedness practices to ensure rapid deployment of resources to affected areas.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate for the Management Service Officer position should possess an advanced university degree in Business/Public Administration, Engineering, or a related field relevant to office management and administration. Alternatively, a first university degree combined with additional years of relevant work experience and/or training may be acceptable. Candidates should have some experience and/or training in at least one Management Services line of business, such as asset management, facilities, fleet, or travel. Experience in analyzing data and deriving insights from trends and performance metrics is also desirable.
Educational Background: Candidates must have an advanced university degree in a relevant field such as Business/Public Administration or Engineering. A first university degree with additional relevant work experience and training may also be considered. Experience: The position requires candidates to have some level of experience in Management Services, particularly in areas such as asset management, facilities management, fleet operations, or travel services.
