Job Overview:

The intern will be involved in supporting the OCSS's initiatives, particularly the 'Building Our Pillar' program, which focuses on staff engagement and inclusion. The intern will work closely with the Head of Office and will be expected to contribute to various projects aimed at enhancing organizational culture. The internship is unpaid and requires a commitment of 35 hours per week for a duration of three to six months, with flexible work arrangements available, including hybrid, in-person, or fully remote options. The intern will assist in implementing activities related to staff engagement, analyze data, update online information, prepare communications, and support change management initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: implementing activities in line with the Building Our Pillar action plan, collecting and analyzing both quantitative and qualitative data, visualizing information for better understanding, updating online platforms with relevant staff engagement activities, preparing weekly newsletters and other communication materials, supporting various change management initiatives, coordinating specific events, and performing other ad hoc duties as required. The intern will play a vital role in fostering an inclusive and effective organizational culture within the UN.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must meet one of the following criteria: be enrolled in or have completed a graduate program (second university degree or equivalent) or be in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent). A background in communications, management, data, human resources, or related fields is preferred. While professional work experience is not mandatory, applicants must have a field of study closely related to the internship. Additionally, the ability to design surveys and polls is desirable, and proficiency in standard software applications, particularly MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams, is required. Applicants who are related to current UN staff members are ineligible to apply.

Educational Background:
The educational requirements for this internship include being a student in the final year of a bachelor's degree program, or having completed a bachelor's, master's, or Ph.D. program. Candidates must provide proof of their academic status, such as an official certificate, during the application process. The internship is open to individuals pursuing degrees in fields relevant to the position, such as communications, management, data analysis, or human resources.

Experience:
While prior professional work experience is not a requirement for this internship, candidates should have relevant academic experience or coursework that aligns with the responsibilities of the internship.
