Job Overview:
The position of Asistente de Programas para la Gestión y Analítica de Datos is crucial for the World Food Programme's operations in Colombia. The selected candidate will work within the Research, Assessment and Monitoring (RAM) unit, specifically in the Identity Management (IDM) team. This role involves managing and analyzing beneficiary data to ensure the effectiveness and quality of WFP's interventions aimed at improving security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">food security and nutrition for vulnerable populations. The candidate will be responsible for designing and optimizing data management processes, developing analytical tools, and ensuring compliance with data protection principles. The position requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to support decision-making processes based on reliable data analysis, ultimately contributing to the success of WFP's programs in Colombia.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities for this position include:
  • Designing, documenting, and optimizing processes for capturing, storing, cleaning, and reconciling large volumes of data, focusing on efficiency, scalability, security, and traceability.
  • Proposing technical solutions to integrate multiple data sources and improve internal user access to information, ensuring consistency and operational utility.
  • Developing tools using programming languages such as Python and R to support data management, analysis, and reporting related to program implementation.
  • Creating interactive dashboards and dynamic reports to facilitate informed decision-making by operational and strategic areas.
  • Supporting the definition and application of data management policies and standards, ensuring the integrity, consistency, and protection of beneficiary information.
  • Providing technical advice to area offices and internal units on the use of corporate beneficiary information management systems, including queries, reports, and best practices.
  • Proposing and implementing continuous improvements in data processing workflows, incorporating modern data engineering and science practices.
  • Engaging in self-directed learning through WFP's e-learning platform and other technical forums to enhance job performance and share knowledge with colleagues.
  • Performing other tasks as assigned by the coordinator related to the role.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for this position include:
  • Completion of secondary education is mandatory. A professional degree in systems engineering, industrial engineering, mathematics, statistics, or related fields is desirable.
  • Specific courses in analytics and data management are preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in business intelligence, data management, and analytics is required.
  • Familiarity with technologies for data processing and analytics, such as Python, R, SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools like Tableau and PowerBI, is highly desirable.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have completed their secondary education, with a preference for those holding a professional degree in relevant fields such as systems engineering, industrial engineering, mathematics, or statistics. Additional specific courses in analytics and data management will be considered an asset.

Experience:
Candidates should possess at least 4 years of relevant experience in business intelligence, data management, and analytics. This experience should demonstrate the ability to handle large datasets and apply analytical techniques effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in both oral and written Spanish is mandatory. Knowledge of English is desirable but not required.

Additional Notes:
This position is offered under a Service Contract (SC) for a duration of six (6) months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and resource availability. The role is classified at the SC4 level.
