Job Overview: The Finance Support Officer position is situated within the ILO Country Office in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Duties and Responsibilities: The Finance Support Officer will undertake a comprehensive range of specialized finance support functions, including but not limited to: initiating, processing, reviewing, and following up on administrative actions related to financial transactions; performing analytical reviews and trend analysis of financial activities; preparing financial analytical reports; serving as a certifying officer; conducting monthly bank reconciliations; maintaining and reconciling budget data; preparing detailed cost estimates; and ensuring compliance with financial rules and regulations. The incumbent will also monitor the utilization of resources for donor reporting, assist in the follow-up on internal audit recommendations, and provide training and guidance to staff on financial policies and procedures. Additionally, the Finance Support Officer will evaluate and propose improvements to work methods and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in financial operations.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong understanding of financial administration and accounting techniques, as well as local taxation and banking methods. Knowledge of international accounting standards, such as IPSAS, is essential. The role requires proficiency in PC software, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to interpret and work within applicable financial rules and regulations.
