Job Overview:
The position of Extended Term Consultant (ETC) for Investment Analyst in the Infrastructure department of IFC is crucial for supporting the organization's mission in the Latin America and Caribbean region. The Infrastructure department is one of IFC's strategic priorities, focusing on improving access to efficient, reliable, and affordable infrastructure for the poor in emerging markets. The role involves working closely with Investment Officers to provide analytical, research, and professional support in various investment activities. The candidate will be expected to engage in complex evaluations, original thinking, and produce various written outputs. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying investment opportunities and supporting the structuring of transactions that align with IFC's goals in infrastructure development.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Extended Term Consultant include, but are not limited to: creating and analyzing financial models, with a strong emphasis on project finance modeling; participating in the structuring of new transactions; reviewing and analyzing historical and projected financial statements; conducting industry, integrity (KYC), and market research to assist in IFC's business development efforts; elaborating pitchbooks and proposals for clients; reviewing company information and preparing reports on periodic financial statements and project progress; preparing documentation for IFC's internal processes; providing analytical support during investment negotiations; and actively monitoring investments in portfolio companies to ensure compliance with IFC's financial, environmental, insurance, and legal requirements.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably with a concentration in Finance, Business, or Economics. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a financial institution, investment banking, private equity fund, consulting firm, or a relevant sector is preferred, with a proven track record in analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">financial analysis. Experience with infrastructure-related projects, such as transport, power, telecom, and water and sanitation, is highly desirable. Knowledge of the macroeconomic, regulatory, and market conditions specific to the Andean Region will be advantageous. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, sound business judgment, and the ability to work effectively in multicultural teams are essential. Candidates should demonstrate quantitative, financial analysis, and modeling skills, as well as teamwork capabilities. A proactive attitude and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines under pressure are crucial.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, ideally with a focus on Finance, Business, or Economics. This foundational education is critical for understanding the financial and economic principles that underpin the role of an Investment Analyst in the infrastructure sector.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have at least 2 years of relevant experience in a financial institution, investment banking, private equity, consulting, or a related field. This experience should include a proven track record in financial analysis and familiarity with infrastructure projects, which is essential for effectively contributing to the team's objectives.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as excellent verbal and written communication skills are required for the role. Additionally, fluency in Spanish is essential, and knowledge of Portuguese is considered a plus, reflecting the multilingual environment of the Latin America and Caribbean region.

The position is a one-year appointment, renewable at the discretion of the World Bank Group, with a maximum lifetime appointment of three years for Extended Term Consultants. If an ET appointment ends before a full year, it counts as a full year toward the lifetime maximum.
