Job Overview: The primary purpose of this consultancy is to develop a comprehensive suite of evidence-based, user-friendly job aids that will strengthen healthcare worker capacity in immunization and cold chain management across Nepal's federal health system. The consultant will review existing job aids, identify gaps, and develop new materials that reflect current WHO-PQ standards and address the unique challenges faced by healthcare workers in remote areas. The job aids will serve as quick reference tools to reinforce best practices, improve operational efficiency, and ensure compliance with national and international standards. This role is crucial in enhancing the effectiveness of immunization programs and ensuring the safety and potency of vaccines throughout the supply chain.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will be responsible for conducting a rapid review of existing materials related to immunization and cold chain management, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement. They will update existing job aids based on stakeholder feedback and develop new comprehensive job aids covering critical aspects of vaccine and cold chain management. The consultant will also design materials that can be implemented across different levels of the health system, incorporate technological advances, and provide practical tools for healthcare workers. Additionally, the consultant will conduct field tests of the job aids, present the final materials to the Technical Working Group, and ensure all content aligns with national guidelines and WHO/UNICEF standards.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in Public Health, Communication, Supply Chain/Vaccine Management, Education, Social Sciences, or other relevant disciplines, with specialized training in Immunization and Vaccine management. Desirable qualifications include specialized training in adult learning principles and instructional design. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible professional work experience in immunization supply chain and vaccine management, as well as demonstrated knowledge of immunization program management and cold chain systems. Experience working with UN agencies is also desirable.
Educational Background: An advanced university degree in relevant fields such as Public Health, Communication, Supply Chain/Vaccine Management, Education, or Social Sciences is required. Specialized training in Immunization and Vaccine management is essential for this role.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible professional work experience in immunization supply chain and vaccine management, as well as experience in immunization program management and cold chain systems. Experience working with UN agencies is considered an asset.
Languages: Good written and spoken proficiency in both Nepali and English is mandatory. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in remote settings are also essential. Proficiency in graphic design or experience working with design teams is an asset.
