Job Overview:
The Associate Information Management Officer position is crucial in supporting UNHCR's operations in Syria, particularly in light of the anticipated return of refugees. The role involves managing and analyzing data related to returnees, ensuring accurate and timely information is available to facilitate cash assistance and other support services. The incumbent will work under the supervision of the Information Management Officer and will be responsible for the technical support of biometric verification systems, as well as the management of data related to cash-based interventions. This position requires a strong understanding of data management systems, particularly RAIS, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to ensure effective data collection, analysis, and reporting. The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing the organization's capacity to respond to the needs of returning refugees and will contribute to the overall mission of UNHCR in providing protection and assistance to vulnerable populations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Associate Information Management Officer include coordinating data and information management activities, participating in the data management team, and contributing to the design and implementation of data strategies and systems. The officer will support the collection, storage, management, and protection of data, ensuring consistency and integrity for country, global, and regional analysis. They will assist in the analysis of primary and secondary data for evidence-informed decision-making and provide technical support and training to operations. The officer will also undertake data management activities at various levels, including supporting cross-country assessments and developing information management products such as indicators and dashboards. Collaboration with various stakeholders, including registration staff, programme staff, and senior management, is essential to ensure that data needs are met and that risks are identified and managed effectively.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of three years of relevant experience with an undergraduate degree, two years with a graduate degree, or one year with a doctorate degree. Essential qualifications include experience with data sharing, management, and analysis to support policy formulation and implementation. Desirable qualifications include knowledge of national and international statistical systems, experience in data collection and analysis in field situations, and familiarity with GIS and geospatial systems. Functional skills required for this position include data collection methodologies, database design and development, data governance, and statistical analysis.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a degree in Social Science, Statistics, Information Management, Physical Science, Economics, Data Science, Geography, GIS, Engineering, Demography, Computer Science, or a related field. A strong academic foundation in these areas is essential for effectively managing and analyzing data related to refugees and displaced persons.

Experience:
The level of experience needed for this position is at least three years of relevant experience for candidates with an undergraduate degree. Languages:
