The organization is dedicated to protecting the rights and well-being of refugees and displaced persons worldwide. Established in 1950, UNHCR operates in over 130 countries and employs thousands of staff members globally. Its mission is to ensure that everyone has the right to seek asylum and find safe refuge in another country, and to return home voluntarily, integrate locally, or resettle in a third country. UNHCR Canada specifically focuses on engaging with local communities and stakeholders to enhance fundraising efforts and support for refugees in Canada and abroad.

Experience:
While specific prior experience is not mandatory, candidates should demonstrate relevant skills and competencies that align with the duties of the internship. Experience in fundraising, communications, or community outreach would be beneficial but is not a strict requirement. The emphasis is on the candidate's ability to learn quickly and apply their knowledge effectively in a practical setting.
