Job Overview: The director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Deputy Director for Aviation Security and Facilitation (DD/ASF) plays a crucial role within the Air Transport Bureau (ATB) of ICAO. This position is responsible for overseeing the strategic objectives related to civil aviation security and facilitation. The incumbent will coordinate the work of four key sections: the Aviation Security Audit (ASA) Section, the Aviation Security Policy (ASP) Section, the Implementation Support and Development – Security (ISD-SEC) Section, and the Facilitation (FAL) Section. These sections are tasked with developing and maintaining critical aviation security and facilitation standards, providing implementation advice, and managing the Universal Security Audit Programme (USAP). The role requires close collaboration with various stakeholders, including member states, international organizations, and industry partners, to ensure effective communication and implementation of aviation security measures. The incumbent will report directly to the DD/ASF and will be responsible for managing complex administrative tasks and ensuring the quality of services rendered by the ASF Sections.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Deputy Director for Aviation Security and Facilitation will have a comprehensive set of duties and responsibilities, including:
Coordinating and managing the workflow of ASF programs, setting target dates, assigning tasks, and ensuring timely completion of projects.
Providing administrative support to the Office of DD/ASF, including managing correspondence, scheduling appointments, and preparing travel arrangements.
Assisting in the production of documentation related to ASF activities, including drafting correspondence and reviewing documents for consistency with ICAO procedures.
Coordinating the preparation of working papers and reports for various ICAO bodies, ensuring high-quality submissions.
Providing guidance to ASP Professional and General Service Staff on administrative procedures and liaising with other Bureaus for required information.
Performing other related duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent as a minimum requirement. Additionally, a minimum of five years of relevant experience in administrative roles is essential. Experience in handling sensitive and confidential matters is also required.
