Job Overview: The position of Regional Investment Manager for Africa under the Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 (P4G) program involves serving as the primary liaison between the Ethiopia National Platform and the P4G Global Hub. This role requires coordination of the platform's involvement in supporting climate partnerships and advancing enabling environment reforms. The manager will oversee stakeholder engagement, manage partnership activities in Ethiopia, and contribute to policy and strategy processes. The position is hybrid, requiring 8 days per month in the office in Addis Ababa, and involves regular in-country travel and occasional international travel as needed. The successful candidate will work closely with the P4G Africa regional team and WRI Ethiopia staff to ensure alignment with national priorities and institutional coordination, integrating equity into all aspects of their work.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Regional Investment Manager include: 1) National Platform Engagement and Strategy (30%): Facilitating regular meetings with NP co-chairs and focal points to ensure strategic alignment, developing and tracking the implementation of the NP Implementation Plan, and conducting annual NP assessments. 2) Startup Partnership Management and Acceleration (30%): Overseeing engagement with P4G-supported startups, organizing acceleration activities and policy learning events with ministries and partners, and coordinating documentation of enabling environment contributions in partnership closeouts. 3) Policy Engagement and Ecosystem Strengthening (25%): Engaging with public and private stakeholders to identify and address market barriers, representing P4G in sectoral dialogues and multi-stakeholder forums, and facilitating planning and stakeholder engagement for P4G missions and summits. 4) Knowledge Management and Reporting (15%): Drafting and distributing bi-annual Partnership Update Reports, preparing mission trip summaries, workshop reports, and internal updates, and ensuring proper documentation and use of internal WRI systems for knowledge sharing.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for this position include a completed bachelor’s degree in sustainability, public policy, business, finance, economics, international development, political science, or a related field. Candidates must have at least 6 years of full-time relevant work experience, including engagement with senior government officials and policymakers. A proven track record in facilitating and managing multi-stakeholder processes, particularly on policy, regulatory reform, or enabling environment development, is essential. Experience working with international development agencies, finance institutions, or donor-funded programs is also required. Candidates should demonstrate experience in green growth sectors, ideally in climate-smart agriculture, clean energy, water systems and resilience, food loss and waste, or other climate-related fields. Familiarity with Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMIC), preferably in Africa, and an understanding of local political and economic contexts are important. Experience representing an organization in high-level forums and in relationship-building, negotiating, and facilitating across government, private sector, and civil society stakeholders is necessary. Project management experience, including planning, monitoring, and reporting, is also required.

Languages: Proficiency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization and with stakeholders. Additionally, proficiency in Amharic is considered an added advantage, as it would facilitate better engagement with local partners and stakeholders in Ethiopia.
Additional Notes: This position is a hybrid role, requiring the candidate to be in the office in Addis Ababa for 8 days per month.
