Job Overview:
The Associate Investment Officer position at IFC is designed for individuals with strong regional market and industry experience, tasked with growing and developing IFC's business across Europe. The role involves collaborating on client strategies and engagement plans, establishing relationships with mid-level clients and stakeholders, and analyzing operational and financial performance of potential clients and projects. The Associate Investment Officer will build complex financial models, perform due diligence, and assess development impact, while leading straightforward investment transactions. This position requires coordination with internal stakeholders to enhance project sustainability and development impact, as well as monitoring assigned portfolios and conducting credit and risk assessments. The role is pivotal in engaging with clients to understand their business challenges and opportunities, thereby supporting the design of effective client engagement plans.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Associate Investment Officer include: collaborating in the development of client strategies and engagement plans; establishing and maintaining relationships with mid-level clients and stakeholders; analyzing operational and financial performance, as well as credit and integrity risks of potential clients/projects; building complex financial models and performing due diligence; assessing development impact and IFC's role in transactions; leading investment transactions while incorporating lessons learned; coordinating with internal stakeholders to enhance project impact; performing credit and risk assessments; supervising portfolio reporting information prepared by junior staff; engaging with clients to understand their business directions; and following up with clients to resolve project-related issues. Additionally, the officer will be responsible for the supervision of assigned portfolios, including structured finance transactions.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in finance, economics, or related fields, along with at least 4 years of relevant experience in sourcing, structuring, and closing investments in both equity and debt. A proven track record in active portfolio management of debt and equity investments is essential. Experience in audit firms, commercial banks, private equity funds, or rating agencies is highly encouraged. Candidates should have a good understanding of IFC's financial instruments, industry drivers, and business development cycles, as well as strong analytical, analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">financial analysis, equity valuation, and financial modeling skills. The ability to oversee and provide quality control feedback on financial models is also required, along with experience in structured products and risk assessment.

Educational Background:
A Master’s degree in finance, economics, or a related area is required for this position. This educational background should provide a solid foundation in financial principles, economic theories, and analytical skills necessary for the role.

Experience:
The position requires at least 4 years of relevant experience, demonstrating a proven track record in sourcing, structuring, and closing investments in both equity and debt. Candidates should also have experience in active portfolio management, showcasing their ability to manage and assess investment performance effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, with excellent oral and written communication skills required. Knowledge of other languages from the Central and Eastern European (CEE) region is desirable, which could enhance communication and relationship-building with clients in those areas.
