Job Overview: The Electrical Engineer position is crucial for the REPOWER project, which aims to procure electric equipment to support Ukraine's recovery from the ongoing humanitarian crisis caused by the Russian invasion. The role involves ensuring quality management of electrical equipment procurement, analyzing technical specifications, and providing technical compliance evaluations. The engineer will work closely with the Project Manager and will be responsible for training project personnel on quality standards, promoting a culture of quality, and acting as a point of contact for quality-related issues. The position requires a strong understanding of both Ukrainian and international technical standards, as well as the ability to communicate effectively in English and Ukrainian.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Electrical Engineer will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:
Quality Management: Analyzing technical specifications for equipment, ensuring compliance with Ukrainian and international standards, signing off on tender documentation, responding to bidders' technical queries, participating in tender evaluations, and providing technical advice on equipment acceptance.
Information and Knowledge Management: Training project personnel on technical quality standards, promoting a culture of quality, and ensuring that all tasks are agreed upon with the Supervisor. The engineer will also be responsible for translating documentation between English and Ukrainian as needed.
Collaboration: Working closely with the Project Manager and stakeholders to resolve quality-related issues and concerns during equipment delivery and installation.
Documentation Review: Conducting reviews of technical documentation from home, ensuring that all materials meet the required standards and specifications.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or postgraduate studies in electrical engineering. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical domain combined with two additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a Master’s degree. Additionally, candidates should have a minimum of five years of experience in electrical engineering, particularly in testing and quality control of electrical equipment, and evaluating compliance with codes and standards. Proficiency in Ukrainian and EU technical standards is required, along with an in-depth understanding of technical documentation for electrical equipment. Previous experience with international organizations or large-scale projects is considered an asset.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree or postgraduate studies in electrical engineering. A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field may be accepted if accompanied by two additional years of relevant experience. Certification or registration from the Ministry of Regional Development, Construction and Housing of Ukraine would also be beneficial.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of five years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, specifically in areas such as testing, quality control, and compliance evaluation of electrical equipment. Candidates should have a strong understanding of technical standards and legal requirements related to electrical equipment, as well as experience working with international organizations or on large-scale projects.

Additional Notes: This is a local position open to Nationals of Ukraine and individuals with a valid residence/work permit. The contract type is retainer, with a contract level of Local ICA Support - LICA 9 (ICS9). The contract duration is for one year, with a maximum of 200 working days.
