Job Overview: The Project Management Support - Senior Officer (Coordination) will play a crucial role in managing the CSO-UN Dialogue on Peacebuilding Initiative. This position involves facilitating the programming of the Core Group, maintaining partnerships with civil society organizations (CSOs) and UN entities, organizing meetings, and drafting working documents. The incumbent will also liaise with financial contributors, monitor project budgets, and support the inclusion of women and youth in the initiative. Additionally, the role includes organizing the 2025 CSO-UN Dialogue on Peacebuilding, coordinating participant selection, and preparing substantive sessions. The officer will contribute to knowledge management regarding civil society engagement and support PBSO's efforts in civil society inclusion, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with various stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Management of the CSO-UN Dialogue on Peacebuilding Initiative: Facilitate programming of the Core Group, maintain partnerships with CSOs and UN entities, organize regular meetings, and draft working documents. Liaise with financial contributors, including Member States and UN entities, and monitor project budgets and reporting. Support the inclusion and empowerment of women and youth throughout the initiative.
Organization of the 2025 CSO-UN Dialogue on Peacebuilding: Facilitate participant selection, support design" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">program design, coordinate substantive preparation of sessions, and organize consultations with CSOs at various levels. Design surveys and tools to collect feedback and evaluate the conference's impact.
Support PBSO’s office-wide work on civil society engagement: Contribute to knowledge management of civil society partners, provide input for leadership engagements, and facilitate identification of CSO representatives for UN forums and policy processes related to peacebuilding.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or a first-level university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience. Relevant experience is defined as experience in project support, project management, or related fields. A minimum of 2 years of experience in supporting peacebuilding or civil society engagement projects is required. Desired experience includes familiarity with the United Nations or other international organizations, experience at peacebuilding CSOs, and strong partnership management skills.
Educational Background: Candidates are required to have an advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) with 2 years of relevant experience, or a first-level university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) with 4 years of relevant experience. The educational background should be in a field related to project management, international relations, or a similar discipline that supports the functions of the role.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in project support, project management, or related fields. Experience in supporting peacebuilding or civil society engagement projects is mandatory. While not required, experience with the United Nations or other international organizations, as well as experience in partnership management and coordination, is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking) is mandatory for this position. Additional language skills may be beneficial but are not specified as requirements.
Additional Notes: The contract type is fixed-term at the P2 level, with an initial duration of one year, subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
