Interns will engage in various tasks that support the mission's political, reporting, and communication activities. The internship lasts for three months, with the possibility of extension for an additional three months, depending on performance and organizational needs. Interns will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals, gaining insights into political affairs, media relations, and communication strategies. The role requires flexibility, as interns will be assigned to one of three units—Reporting, Political, or Communications—based on their interests and strengths. This internship is an unpaid position, but it offers invaluable experience and exposure to the OSCE's operations in Serbia.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be responsible for a variety of tasks under the guidance of the Chief of Policy and Co-ordination and the respective Head of Unit. Key responsibilities include monitoring media updates on political developments in Serbia, drafting news updates and press summaries, and delivering morning press briefings when required. Interns will assist in drafting and reviewing reports, talking points, and correspondence, as well as preparing communication materials such as press releases, media advisories, and social media content. They will also assist in editing and translating materials for senior management, conducting research, and supporting the activities of the Office of the Head of Mission (OHoM). Additionally, interns will participate in field visits, attend meetings, draft minutes, and assist in organizing outreach activities. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess citizenship or permanent residence in the Republic of Serbia and be under the age of 30 at the time of application. A university degree in political studies, law, international relations, development studies, journalism, communication, or humanities is required, or at least two years of full-time studies in these fields. Fluency in both English and Serbian is mandatory, along with strong communication skills. Candidates should demonstrate analytical, research, and drafting abilities, as well as attention to detail and strong organizational skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment is essential, as is political sensitivity and awareness of the national and regional context. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and video conferencing tools is also required, along with a willingness to work with diverse groups while maintaining impartiality.

Educational Background:
A university degree in relevant fields such as political studies, law, international relations, development studies, journalism, communication, or humanities is essential. Alternatively, candidates may qualify with at least two years of full-time studies in these areas from an accredited institution. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of political affairs and communication within an international context.

Experience:
While previous experience in an international organization, diplomacy, journalism, academia, governmental or civil society organizations, or political organizations is not mandatory, it is considered an asset. Experience with drafting and editing written communication products, as well as managing social media channels, is also advantageous. Candidates with relevant experience will have a better understanding of the tasks and responsibilities associated with the internship.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Serbian is mandatory for this position. Excellent communication skills in both languages are essential for effectively engaging with various audiences and adapting language and style as needed. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered a plus but is not required.

Additional Notes:

Interns are expected to start between October 2025 and January 2026, with rolling commencement dates allowing for flexibility. The OSCE does not provide remuneration for the internship; however, a daily compensation of EUR 15.7 will be offered to interns who do not reside in Belgrade and do not receive financial support from their educational institution. The OSCE will also cover costs for any official travel during the internship. Interns must provide proof of health insurance valid in Serbia or join the OSCE group health insurance at their own expense. The organization is committed to achieving gender balance and does not request payment at any stage of the application process.
