Job Overview:
The UN Volunteer Procurement and Travel Assistant will provide essential support in procurement and travel management within UNDP Morocco. This role involves close collaboration with various UNDP projects, operations, and other UN agencies. The assistant will work under the supervision of the Head of the General Services Unit and the Operations Manager, ensuring high-quality service delivery and adherence to UNDP operational strategies. The position requires a proactive approach to managing procurement processes, travel arrangements, and logistical support, contributing to the overall efficiency of UNDP operations in Morocco.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Procurement and Travel Assistant will be responsible for implementing operational strategies, ensuring compliance with UNDP rules and regulations, and providing administrative support for procurement and travel processes. Key functions include processing purchase orders, organizing procurement processes, maintaining filing systems, supporting travel management, and facilitating knowledge sharing within the Country Office. The assistant will also be involved in preparing reports, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring the timely execution of procurement and travel-related tasks, all while promoting a client-oriented approach.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to UNDP's mission and values, possess strong organizational skills, and have the ability to handle confidential information. Proficiency in IT skills, particularly in Excel, Word, and Outlook, is essential. The role requires a detail-oriented individual capable of managing multiple tasks and resolving operational issues effectively. A strong understanding of administrative rules and regulations is also necessary, along with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.

Educational Background:
A relevant educational background is required, typically a degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field. Candidates should have a solid understanding of procurement and travel management processes, as well as familiarity with UNDP's operational frameworks and policies.

Experience:
Candidates should have prior experience in procurement, travel management, or administrative support roles, preferably within an international organization or a similar context. Experience working in a multicultural environment and familiarity with UNDP's operational procedures will be advantageous. The role may require a minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience, demonstrating the ability to manage tasks effectively and contribute to team objectives.

Languages:
Fluency in English and French is mandatory, as these are the primary working languages of UNDP Morocco. Knowledge of Arabic is an asset and may enhance communication with local stakeholders and partners.

This position is a national UN Volunteer role based in Morocco, with a focus on full-time engagement. The contract duration and specific terms of service will be outlined in the Conditions of Service. The role offers a monthly Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) and access to various learning and development resources.
