Job Overview:
The Individual Consultant position at UNICEF involves working closely with the HRDO team and the Senior Legal Consultant on child rights. The consultant is expected to produce specific deliverables that contribute to a report on the human rights situation of displaced children. This role requires the consultant to support the interview process and draft sections of an ad-hoc report, providing recommendations for improvement. The consultant will perform the assignment remotely but is expected to visit all marzes at least once, with travel organized by the consultant and fees inclusive of travel costs. This position is crucial for advocating for the rights of children and ensuring their protection in challenging circumstances.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will be responsible for conducting interviews with child victims and witnesses, undertaking legal analysis, and writing reports. They will also provide legal advice and support the HRDO team in preparing the report on child rights. The consultant must demonstrate the ability to work independently while coordinating with various teams, conduct needs assessments, and make recommendations based on their findings. Additionally, the consultant will be expected to document collected information and ensure compliance with established international standards in child rights.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in Public law" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">International Law, International Human Rights Law, International Children's Rights, International Refugee Law, or other relevant fields. A minimum of 4 years of experience in public international law or international human rights law is required, with experience in child rights or refugee law considered an asset. Candidates should have a good understanding of international standards in child rights, knowledge of child protection measures, and familiarity with the Armenian legal framework on child protection. Demonstrated experience in legal analysis, report writing, and providing legal advice is essential.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master's degree in relevant fields such as Public International Law, International Human Rights Law, International Children's Rights, or International Refugee Law. This advanced degree is crucial for understanding the complexities of child rights and international law, which are central to the consultant's responsibilities.

Experience:
The position requires at least 4 years of relevant experience in public international law or international human rights law. Experience in child rights or refugee law is highly desirable. Candidates should have a proven track record of conducting legal analysis, writing reports, and providing legal advice, preferably within judicial institutions or accountability mechanisms. Experience in fact-finding and documentation, as well as conducting interviews with victims and witnesses, is also beneficial.

Languages:
Full command of spoken and written English and Armenian is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing the consultant's ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders and communities.
