Job Overview: The position of Graphic Designer at UNFPA Ukraine is crucial for enhancing the organization's communication efforts through original design and layouts for various materials. The designer will be engaged on a project basis, responding to requests from project holders or communication specialists. This role requires flexibility, as the designer will work remotely and must be available as needed. The designer will be responsible for creating educational materials, printed publications, infographics, and reports, ensuring that all designs align with UNFPA's branding guidelines. The work will be supervised by the UNFPA Communications Analyst, who will provide guidance and feedback throughout the design process. The designer must be adept at managing multiple assignments and meeting tight deadlines, demonstrating a commitment to delivering high-quality results that reflect UNFPA's mission and values.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Graphic Designer will be responsible for the following duties:
Develop original designs and layouts for online and offline communications, including educational materials, printed publications, infographics, and reports.
Collaborate with project holders and communication specialists to understand project requirements and objectives.
Ensure all designs adhere to UNFPA's branding guidelines and standards.
Manage multiple design assignments simultaneously, prioritizing tasks based on deadlines and project needs.
Provide electronic files of completed designs in a timely manner, incorporating feedback and revisions as necessary.
Maintain a high-quality portfolio of work that showcases design skills and creativity.
Work under pressure and be available for long hours when required to meet project deadlines.
Engage in continuous learning and professional development to enhance design skills and stay updated with industry trends.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess the following qualifications:
A high-school diploma, along with certifications in Graphic Design courses or equivalent professional experience in communication and design.
A minimum of one to three years of progressively responsible professional work experience in producing printed or digital products.
Advanced skills and strong experience in design and branding, demonstrated through a good quality portfolio.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
Availability to work on a project basis and meet deadlines as required by the organization.
Previous experience in the development sector is considered an asset.
A Bachelor's degree in relevant fields will be an advantage.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a high-school diploma and certifications in Graphic Design or related fields. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred and will enhance the candidate's qualifications for the role. Languages: Fluency in English, Ukrainian, and Russian is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered a plus, but the primary requirement is fluency in the three specified languages.
Additional Notes: The contract duration for this position is from August 2025 until March 2026, with the possibility of extension based on project needs. The work will be conducted remotely, with the designer expected to be available as needed for project requests. Payment for the services rendered will be made in instalments, with 100% payment upon submission of final deliverables that incorporate feedback from UNFPA. All intellectual property related to the project will remain the property of UNFPA, and confidentiality must be maintained regarding any information accessed during the assignment.
