Job Overview:
The Deputy coordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Finance Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the Finance Coordinator by overseeing financial operations and budget management for the Syria mission. This position is essential for ensuring the effective implementation of financial processes and policies across various field bases. The Deputy Finance Coordinator will manage cash transfers and partner payments in coordination with the headquarters, ensuring that all financial activities align with the organization's standards and regulations. The role requires a proactive approach to financial management, with a focus on maintaining transparency and accountability in all financial dealings. The Deputy Finance Coordinator will also be involved in strategic financial planning and reporting, contributing to the overall financial health of the mission.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support the Finance Coordinator in overseeing all financial operations for the Syria mission, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Manage the preparation and monitoring of budgets, ensuring that all expenditures are tracked and reported accurately.
  • Coordinate cash transfers and partner payments, ensuring timely and accurate processing of financial transactions.
  • Conduct regular financial reporting and analysis to provide insights into the financial status of the mission.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with field teams to ensure proper financial management practices are followed at all levels.
  • Provide training and support to staff on financial management and reporting processes.
  • Participate in audits and ensure that all financial records are maintained in accordance with organizational standards.
  • Work closely with the Finance Coordinator to identify areas for improvement in financial operations and implement necessary changes.

Required Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Business Administration is required.
  • A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in financial management, specifically in budgeting, monitoring, and reporting.
  • At least 3 years of experience working with an International Non-Governmental Organization (INGO) is mandatory.
  • Strong accounting skills, including proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, financial modeling).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Business Administration. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of financial management within the context of humanitarian operations.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in financial management, with a strong emphasis on budgeting, monitoring, and reporting. Additionally, candidates must have at least 3 years of experience working with an INGO, which is crucial for understanding the unique financial challenges and requirements of humanitarian work.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization. Proficiency in Arabic is also required, as it is essential for effective communication with local staff and stakeholders.
