Job Overview:
The main objective of this position is to develop and implement a business development strategy to promote, position, and sell HI's expertise in early rehabilitation to humanitarian medical and surgical organizations. The expected outcome is to establish paid partnerships for the provision of these services. The role involves identifying key opportunities, developing action plans, and creating specialized service offerings. It also includes developing new funding sources in line with sector strategies and maintaining global partnerships, including creating consortia with NGOs, institutions, and specialized companies. The position requires a proactive approach to business development and the ability to influence key stakeholders in the humanitarian sector.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Business Development: Identify key opportunities and propose priorities for business development in the sector; develop a dedicated action plan for business development (including performance indicators) and a range of specialized offers; develop new funding sources in line with sector strategies; identify, evaluate, and recommend relevant strategic donors; design and pilot innovative projects covering multiple countries or themes; strengthen and maintain global partnerships, including creating consortia with NGOs, institutions, and specialized companies.
  • Influence: Represent HI's technical expertise within the network and disseminate best practices in the sector; ensure sector monitoring and communicate relevant trends, standards, and innovations internally; provide initial technical support and advice to external stakeholders in accordance with international frameworks and standards; contribute to influencing major networks, particularly by guiding the policies, practices, and budgets of key donors and partners.
  • Emergency Preparedness and Response Responsibilities: Contribute to the support or implementation of emergency preparedness actions for programs and, in emergency situations, adapt working modalities to effectively participate in HI's humanitarian response.

Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in humanitarian business development or in the health sector.
- Good knowledge of humanitarian medical and surgical actors.
- Experience in selling services with social or humanitarian impact.
- Ability to produce commercial presentation tools and negotiate contractual agreements.
- Ideally, knowledge of functional rehabilitation or physical health in emergency or chronic crisis contexts.
- Proficiency in French and English is mandatory, with additional languages being a plus.

Educational Background:
A relevant degree in business development, international relations, public health, or a related field is preferred. Additional certifications or training in humanitarian response or rehabilitation services would be advantageous.

Experience:
Candidates should have a significant level of experience, ideally with at least 5 years in business development roles within humanitarian or health sectors. Experience in negotiating contracts and managing partnerships is essential, as is familiarity with the operational challenges faced in humanitarian contexts.

Languages:
Fluency in French and English is mandatory. Knowledge of additional languages would be considered an asset, particularly languages relevant to the regions in which HI operates.

This is a fixed-term contract for 2 months starting from September 15, 202
  • The position is classified as a managerial role with a status of cadre. Employees are entitled to 34 days of paid leave and 13 RTT (reduction of working time) days annually, along with a CET (time savings account) to help balance work and personal life.
