Job Overview: The International Strategic Partnerships Lead is a pivotal role within MSF, responsible for spearheading the organization's strategic international partnership initiatives. This position is crucial for enhancing MSF's fundraising capabilities and ensuring the effective management of global partnerships with corporate entities, foundations, major donors, and influential thought leaders. The role requires a deep understanding of MSF's multi-year fundraising strategic framework, GPS 3.0, and involves collaborating with various stakeholders across the MSF Movement to facilitate access to funding opportunities. The lead will also be instrumental in refining MSF's fundraising potential analysis and addressing gaps in relationships and funding, thereby proposing efficient models for engagement with new and existing partners. This position is designed to ensure that MSF's operational independence is supported through robust financial strategies and partnerships.
Duties and Responsibilities: The International Strategic Partnerships Lead will be responsible for a comprehensive range of duties, including:
Conducting and continuously refining MSF’s fundraising potential analysis related to global partnerships.
Identifying and addressing gaps in relationship and funding potentials, proposing effective models for engagement.
Ensuring the necessary legal, procedural, project management, and operational frameworks are in place for proactive engagement with donors.
Facilitating smooth relationship management by local fundraising markets through effective internal project and stakeholder management.
Supporting decision-making processes by ensuring preparedness and clarity in documentation.
Developing and implementing global measures to engage international corporate partners, foundations, major donors, and influencers.
Ensuring alignment with MSF’s ethics frameworks and compliance with procurement and fundraising policies.
Developing comprehensive strategies for identifying and bridging gaps in funding and relationship potentials globally.
Working with Legal, Finance, and Operational teams to ensure compliance and due diligence processes are in place. 1
Coordinating internal relationships and processes to ensure smooth collaboration across MSF entities. 1
Establishing key performance indicators to track the impact of strategic partnerships and continuously assessing the effectiveness of strategies.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the International Strategic Partnerships Lead position should possess a robust set of qualifications, including:
Proven experience in strategic partnership development and fundraising within a humanitarian or non-profit context.
Strong understanding of global fundraising trends and the ability to analyze and leverage these for strategic planning.
Excellent project management skills, with a track record of managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess and interpret data to inform decision-making.
Familiarity with legal and compliance issues related to fundraising and partnerships.
Educational Background: A relevant educational background is essential for this role, typically including a degree in international relations, business administration, nonprofit management, or a related field. Advanced degrees or specialized training in fundraising, partnership development, or humanitarian assistance may be advantageous.
Experience: Candidates should have significant experience in fundraising, partnership development, or a related field, ideally with at least 5-7 years of experience in a leadership role within a humanitarian or non-profit organization. Experience working in international contexts and managing cross-functional teams is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, and proficiency in additional languages such as French, Spanish, or Arabic would be considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with diverse stakeholders across different regions.

The compensation and benefits package will be aligned with the MSF entity establishing the contract, and by default, the successful candidate will be offered a contract in the MSF office of their country of residence at the time of application. The role may involve travel and engagement with various MSF offices globally.
