Job Overview:
The Protection Coordinator (CSP) position is designed to provide technical oversight and project management for Civilian Self Protection (CSP) programming under the Protection from Violence (PfV) Core Competency. The role involves implementing project activities, managing Protection Officers and Assistants, and ensuring the effective monitoring and evaluation of protection projects. The Coordinator will be responsible for developing training modules, providing technical support, and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders, including partner agencies and community leaders. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to enhancing the quality of protection services delivered to affected populations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Protection Coordinator will oversee Protection staff by providing technical support, coaching, supervision, and guidance. Responsibilities include developing training modules, assessing the progress of project implementation, and reporting issues as necessary. The Coordinator will monitor and evaluate the quality of activities, maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, and serve as a referral focal point. Additionally, the role involves ensuring effective Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning processes for protection projects, participating in program reviews and planning meetings, and generating internal and external project reports as required. The Coordinator may also be assigned other tasks by the Protection Project Manager and Protection from Violence Specialist.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in protection-related work, demonstrating a strong understanding of rights and protection issues affecting target populations. A university degree in social work, peace and conflict studies, human rights, or a related field is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook is essential. Candidates should also have experience in coordinating with external stakeholders, including local authorities and partner NGOs, and should be familiar with the context of the area of operation.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in social work, peace and conflict studies, human rights, or a related field. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of protection issues and effectively managing protection programs.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in protection-related work. Candidates should have a proven track record of working with affected populations and coordinating with various stakeholders, including local authorities and NGOs. Experience in monitoring and evaluating protection projects is also highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in both English and Arabic, both written and verbal, is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.

The contract duration for this position is 6 months, with the possibility of renewal based on the needs of the position, available funding, and performance. The position is based in Gaza, and the salary and benefits are aligned with the Gaza Duty Station.
