Job Overview:
The Online Volunteer position is part of WHO's efforts to enhance data-driven decision-making in regional training and learning initiatives. The role is focused on supporting the cleaning, structuring, and visualization of training data, which is crucial for monitoring, planning, and aligning emergency workforce development efforts across the African region. The volunteer will work under the supervision of the Training Officer and collaborate with the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team to ensure that training data is effectively organized and presented. This position is vital for improving the accessibility and usability of training data, which will ultimately contribute to better health outcomes in the region.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Online Volunteer will be responsible for several key tasks:

• Cleaning and structuring existing training datasets for the years 2023 to 2025 to ensure data integrity and usability.
• Building a functional, interactive dashboard that visualizes training data across various countries and technical areas, making it easier for stakeholders to access and interpret the information.
• Ensuring that the dashboard is compatible with other WHO data systems and dashboards to facilitate seamless integration and data sharing.
• Assisting in the organization and streamlining of training indicators and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to enhance their visual representation and effectiveness.
• Supporting both basic and advanced analysis of training reach, completion, and engagement metrics to provide insights into the effectiveness of training programs.
• Providing recommendations and documentation on how to maintain and update the dashboard regularly to ensure its long-term sustainability and relevance.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Online Volunteer position should possess a strong background in data management and analysis. They should have experience with data cleaning and structuring, as well as proficiency in data visualization tools. Familiarity with dashboard creation and maintenance is essential. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Effective communication skills are also important for providing recommendations and documentation.

Educational Background:
A degree in data science, statistics, public health, or a related field is preferred for this position. Candidates with relevant certifications in data analysis or visualization tools will be given priority. A strong understanding of health data and its implications for public health initiatives is also beneficial.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have prior experience working with training data or in a similar role that involved data management and analysis. Experience in the health sector, particularly in relation to training and capacity building, is advantageous. Familiarity with WHO's operations and objectives will be considered a plus.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within WHO. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly French or Portuguese, is considered an asset and may enhance the candidate's suitability for the role.
