Job Overview: The Analyst position at EBRD plays a crucial role in the project cycle, contributing to project origination, structuring, execution, implementation, and monitoring. The Analyst is expected to take on responsibilities assigned by the operation leader or senior project team members, which may include conducting comprehensive due diligence, ensuring compliance with EBRD policies, and facilitating effective post-signing implementation and monitoring. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively within a project team, ensuring that all tasks are completed to a high standard and within specified timeframes. The Analyst will also engage in communication with various stakeholders, preparing reports and presentations as needed, and will progressively take on more complex tasks as they gain experience.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Analyst's duties and responsibilities include:
Working as a project team member on transactions, contributing to project structuring and execution through comprehensive research and analysis of market information and financial performance data.
Analyzing potential risks related to proposed projects, including financial statement analysis and financial modeling.
Assisting in the design and processing of technical cooperation assistance, including preparing terms of reference and internal approval documentation.
Communicating with internal units, clients, and stakeholders, preparing draft correspondence and presentations.
Completing assigned tasks within specified timeframes, ensuring high-quality outputs aligned with the Bank's policies and objectives.
Undertaking tasks related to the implementation and monitoring of projects, ensuring compliance with project agreements and Bank procedures.
Preparing timely draft monitoring reports with recommendations for corrective actions.
Assisting with the effective implementation and monitoring of technical cooperation assignments, including communication with clients and preparation of progress reports.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree, with a Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in relevant fields. Professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA are desirable. Strong quantitative and numerical skills are essential, along with the ability to interpret financial information and design financial models. Candidates should have credit analysis skills, understanding both local and international accounting principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and spreadsheet software is required, along with a good understanding of relevant systems and processes. The ability to work effectively as part of a team and meet deadlines under pressure is crucial, as are strong written and oral communication skills in both English and Albanian.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred, as it provides a deeper understanding of the financial sector and enhances analytical capabilities. Relevant professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA are also considered advantageous, as they demonstrate a commitment to professional development and expertise in financial analysis and management.
Experience: Candidates should have relevant experience in the financial industry, ideally from an investment or commercial bank, private equity firm, asset management firm, or auditing/financial consulting firm that operates to international standards. Exposure to industry or country-specific experience is beneficial, as it provides context for the projects the Analyst will be involved in. The level of experience should align with the responsibilities of the Analyst role, allowing for progressive development and increased complexity in tasks over time.
Languages: Proficiency in English and Albanian is mandatory for this position, as effective communication with stakeholders and team members is essential. Additional language skills may be considered an asset, particularly if they relate to the regions in which the EBRD operates, enhancing the Analyst's ability to engage with diverse clients and partners.
