Job Overview:
The Senior Driver and Project Support Clerk position is integral to the ILO's efforts in combating child labor in Egypt, specifically through the Empowerment Through Education and Learning (ETEL) project. This role combines driving responsibilities with administrative support to ensure the smooth implementation of project activities aimed at eliminating the worst forms of child labor. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing safe and reliable driving services for project staff and officials, as well as performing various office support tasks that are essential for the project's operational efficiency. The position requires a proactive approach to logistics and administrative duties, ensuring that all project activities are supported effectively and efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Senior Driver and Project Support Clerk include: A) Administrative Clerk functions:
  • Provide various office support tasks in accordance with standard procedures, utilizing office software and equipment.
  • Manage registry and mail services, coordinating pouch and courier services.
  • Maintain and update filing systems, correspondence logs, and office records.
  • Compile, assemble, and archive records and reports from various sources.
  • Support meetings and events by preparing documents, arranging facilities, and assisting with logistics.
  • Maintain office supplies and manage stockroom organization.
  • Respond to inquiries via telephone, email, and in-person, directing them to appropriate contacts.
  • Supply information from office files and databases.
  • Receive visitors and manage appointment scheduling. 1
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned. B) Senior Driver functions:
  • Provide safe and reliable driving services for project staff and officials.
  • Meet and assist officials and visitors at the airport, handling protocol and customs formalities.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of assigned vehicles, including minor repairs and timely servicing.
  • Maintain all required vehicle documentation and supplies.
  • Collect and deliver mail and documents for official purposes.
  • Adhere to safety protocols in case of accidents.
  • Schedule drivers and vehicles for daily use as needed.
  • Inform supervisors of vehicle registrations and insurance procedures.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Senior Driver and Project Support Clerk position include:
  • Completion of secondary school education.
  • A valid and clean driving license with a thorough understanding of driving rules and regulations.
  • Skills in minor vehicle repair are essential.
  • Excellent knowledge of local driving rules and regulations, as well as local roads and conditions.
