Job Overview:
The (Associate) Risk Officer position within the Corporate & Portfolio Risk Management Department (CRM) at IFC is designed for a highly motivated and qualified individual who will contribute to the risk oversight of IFC's debt, equity, and treasury portfolios. This role is pivotal in managing IFC's overall capital position and financial sustainability. The successful candidate will be part of the Counterparty and Credit Risk Team (CRMCC), which is responsible for providing comprehensive risk oversight of IFC’s Treasury Activities. The position entails conducting detailed credit and structural analysis, stress testing, and eligibility assessments of securitized products, as well as monitoring market trends and collateral performance to identify and mitigate emerging risks. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders and the ability to present complex analyses and recommendations effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the (Associate) Risk Officer include, but are not limited to: conducting detailed fundamental credit and structural analysis of securitized products such as Asset-Backed Securities (ABS), Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities (RMBS), and covered bonds; performing credit analysis of securitized product originators, sponsors, servicers, and other transaction counterparties; monitoring market trends and collateral performance to proactively identify and evaluate emerging risks; preparing risk surveillance reports that include periodic collateral and sector reviews and cash flow analyses; presenting risk analysis and recommendations to relevant stakeholders, including senior management; reviewing and enhancing CRMCC’s risk policies and investment guidelines; creating and implementing comprehensive policy frameworks for risk management; identifying efficiencies in daily work processes; supporting ISDA/CSA negotiations with derivative counterparties; participating in high-priority ad-hoc projects; and mentoring junior staff while building relationships with various stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or Mathematics, coupled with a strong technical background. A minimum of 5 years of experience in credit risk management or investments is required, with at least 3 years specifically in the analysis of securitized products. Professional experience in finance and fixed income within an investment bank, rating agency, or other financial institution is essential. Proven expertise in analyzing securitized products and familiarity with securitization markets and regulations is required. Proficiency in analytical tools such as Intex or Bloomberg for securitized product analysis is a plus, along with experience in valuation, capital adequacy, and default modeling within financial institutions. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 is required, and knowledge of VBA and SQL is advantageous. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a multicultural environment are also essential.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for the (Associate) Risk Officer position includes a Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Finance, Economics, Statistics, or Mathematics. This advanced degree is critical as it provides the necessary theoretical foundation and analytical skills required for the role, particularly in the context of credit risk management and financial analysis.

Experience:
