• The intern will work closely with the Operational Safety (OPS) Section, assisting in the implementation of airworthiness-related Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) from various Annexes, including Annex 1 (Personnel Licensing), Annex 6 (Operation of Aircraft), and Annex 8 (Airworthiness of Aircraft). The role involves conducting research, analyzing information, and presenting findings to support the development and monitoring of airworthiness standards. The intern will also collaborate with Technical Officers and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and implementation of aviation safety measures. This position is designed to enhance the intern's understanding of international aviation regulations and provide practical experience in a professional setting.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities aimed at supporting the OPS Section of ANB. Key duties include conducting research on assigned issues related to aircraft airworthiness and other specialized areas, analyzing relevant materials, and presenting findings for internal review. The intern will assist the Technical Officer in reviewing documents, identifying critical issues, and ensuring consistency in airworthiness standards. Additionally, the intern will help prepare drafts of background papers, studies, reports, and other documents pertaining to airworthiness subjects. Educational Background:
Applicants are required to have completed or be currently enrolled in a degree program (first-level university degree or higher) in a field related to engineering. For candidates studying in countries where higher education is not divided into undergraduate and graduate stages, a minimum of four years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of a degree is required. This educational background ensures that the intern has the necessary foundational knowledge to engage with complex aviation-related topics effectively.

Experience:
While prior experience in the aviation sector is not mandatory, any relevant internships, volunteer work, or academic projects related to aviation, engineering, or regulatory frameworks will be considered an asset. The internship is designed for students or recent graduates, so a foundational understanding of aviation principles and a strong willingness to learn are more important than extensive prior experience.

Languages:
Fluency in English is essential, with strong reading, writing, and speaking abilities required for effective communication within the organization. Additionally, a working knowledge of any other language of the Organization, such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish, is considered desirable and may enhance the candidate's profile.

Additional Notes:
This internship is unpaid, and all costs related to travel, insurance, accommodation, and living expenses must be covered by the intern. The duration of the internship ranges from three to six months, with the expectation that the intern will work full-time, five days a week. Interns are not permitted to engage in any other form of employment within ICAO during their internship and are ineligible to apply for or be appointed to any post in the Secretariat or contracted for any other remunerated employment with ICAO for six months following the end of their internship. Candidates must also possess a valid work permit for Canada to be eligible for this internship.
