Job Overview: The Project Associate will play a crucial role in supporting the effective execution of a project aimed at building climate resilience and fostering sustainable lifestyles among youth in rural Uzbekistan. The Project Associate will also engage with national partners and contribute to the integration of climate education and green skills development into school curricula and vocational training programs.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Project Associate will work under the direct supervision of the Project Manager and will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: managing logistics and travel arrangements for project staff, ensuring compliance with UNDP rules and procedures during procurement, preparing financial and administrative documents for project implementation, and maintaining accurate records of financial transactions. The Associate will assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual budget plans, monitor project expenses, and ensure timely reporting. They will also support project staff with financial queries, prepare detailed cost estimates, and analyze potential administrative and financial issues. The role includes responsibilities for cash management, monitoring employee vacations, and ensuring compliance with UNDP financial reporting requirements. The Project Associate will also perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office and the organization.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess secondary education as a minimum requirement. A university degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Environment, or related fields will be considered an advantage. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of financial management and administrative processes, particularly within the context of international organizations or development projects. Familiarity with UNDP financial, procurement, and administrative policies is highly desirable, as is experience in managing budgets and ensuring compliance with financial policies.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes at least a secondary education. Candidates with a high school diploma must have a minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience, while those with a bachelor's degree should have at least 4 years of experience in project administration or related areas.
