Job Overview: The consultant will play a crucial role in the LEAP Project, which is a Ford Foundation-funded initiative aimed at engaging traditional and religious leaders to combat gender-based violence (GBV) in Nigeria and West Africa. As the project enters its final year, the consultant will be responsible for documenting and managing knowledge related to the project, ensuring that lessons learned and best practices are captured and disseminated effectively. The consultant will work closely with UN Women staff, including the Deputy Country Representative, Programme Manager, Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist, and Communications Focal Point, to create a well-organized repository of knowledge products developed throughout the project. This role is essential for sustaining the results of the project and promoting accountability and advocacy within communities.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will be tasked with several key deliverables, including:
Collating, curating, and building a comprehensive repository of all knowledge products produced under the LEAP Project, ensuring cross-country dissemination.
Documenting best practices, lessons learned, and success stories from community engagements and partnerships.
Developing and implementing a dissemination plan targeting various stakeholders, including government entities, donors, civil society organizations, and traditional/religious networks.
Designing and packaging advocacy toolkits for traditional and religious leaders.
Coordinating knowledge-sharing events and learning exchanges, including a national session scheduled for July 202
Managing content development and reporting for the final donor report and legacy knowledge products.
Ensuring all products are submitted in editable formats and maintaining a documentation trail of inputs and revisions.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess strong competencies in program formulation, implementation, reporting, monitoring, and evaluation. They should have significant experience in knowledge and communications management, with the ability to synthesize program performance data and produce analytical reports. Proficiency in ICT and design tools such as Adobe Photoshop is essential, along with strong analytical skills to identify trends and develop fundraising strategies. The consultant should also demonstrate effective communication skills and the ability to engage stakeholders.
Educational Background: A Master’s degree or equivalent in knowledge and information management, social sciences, or related disciplines is required. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. A project/program management certification would be considered an advantage.
Experience: At least four years of experience working on issues related to gender-based violence, gender equality, women's rights, and human rights is required. Proven experience in knowledge management consulting with a successful track record of projects is essential. Candidates should also possess excellent communication and training facilitation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory. A working knowledge of more than one Nigerian language is desirable, while proficiency in another official UN language is considered an asset.
