Job Overview:
The role of the coordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Grants Coordinator is to support the Chief of Party of the MIRE+ Consortium or, in their absence, to lead all tasks related to grant management at the consortium level. This includes assisting the Chief of Party in strategic decision-making and coordinating programmatic processes. The Grants Coordinator will autonomously coordinate and prepare proposals, reports, and modifications for donors at the consortium level, support partners in preparing their donor documents, develop tasks related to project cycle management (PCM), and strengthen the capacities of the rest of the team in PCM. Regular contact with donors is expected, along with tracking potential funding opportunities and developing, improving, and updating key grant management tools. The position requires a proactive approach to ensure compliance with donor requirements and internal policies while promoting the rights of internally displaced persons and returnees in line with advocacy strategies.

Duties and Responsibilities:
General Responsibilities: Adhere to NRC's policies, guidelines, and procedures while considering NRC's global and regional strategies when executing functions related to this role. Develop and maintain an overview of all grants, donor requirements, regulations, and internal and external deadlines, including the submission of grant documents through the upcoming grants database. Coordinate the development of donor applications and reports, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and quality control. Stay updated on donor priorities and trends, such as interest in cash-based interventions, and track and share relevant calls for proposals. Document, analyze, and share learning from the reporting and proposal submission processes, ensuring compliance with donor regulations. Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal grant management systems. Provide internal support on donor-related issues, including organizing and delivering training on donor regulations and proposal/report writing. Coordinate the preparation and distribution of internal and external reports. Contribute to PCM training and the use of NRC's PCM framework with the consortium as delegated by the Chief of Party. Support external donor audits. Represent relevant partners and donors as delegated. Promote the rights of internally displaced/repatriated persons in accordance with advocacy strategies. Specific Responsibilities: Participate in decision-making processes related to grant management and the consortium unit; Promote and share ideas and initiatives for improving processes and tools related to grant management; Lead the coordination, information collection, writing, and delivery of quality reports, proposals, and project modifications to donors at the national level, including the review process by the MIRE+ Consortium Management Unit (UGC), MIRE+ consortium operational committee, and steering committee; Coordinate and support partners in their proposal writing, reporting, and/or project modification processes at the area level, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and internal strategy, policies, and NRC's mission; Lead the organization of project initiation, follow-up, and closure meetings at the consortium level, ensuring minutes are kept and action points are followed up; Maintain good oversight of ongoing projects at the consortium level and generate alerts about difficulties, deficiencies, and risks that limit the achievement of expected results, taking initiative when necessary to request official modifications from donors; Promote the collection of lessons learned from projects, particularly through closure meetings, and reflect those learnings in the design of new proposals; Ensure that key grant management documents are properly archived in Office 365 and that these tools are regularly updated; Coordinate tasks autonomously with finance and communications departments, including consortium partners; Attend meetings with donors or communicate with donors via email, as well as attend humanitarian coordination meetings as required; Follow up on new opportunities with commercial/private/development donors, as well as potential strategic partners for NRC; Support with inputs for audits; Assist colleagues in other departments on compliance and grant management issues; Travel to the field to provide ad hoc support to teams.

Required Qualifications:
General Professional Competencies: Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in the field of specialization; Relevant experience in project management in the humanitarian sector; Experience working with humanitarian and development donors and partners; Good knowledge of donor rules and regulations; Skills and experience in report and proposal writing; Strong communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills; Strong analytical skills (data and financial); Ability to mediate in high-stress scenarios with competing interests; Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (C1 certification); Above-average computer skills. Specific Skills, Knowledge, and Contextual Experience: University degree in social sciences, development, international relations, or related fields; Very good writing skills; Experience in decision-making processes; Experience in organizing/coordinating processes and teamwork; Good knowledge of how the humanitarian system operates; Analytical skills; Very good communication skills; Initiative, autonomy, and leadership capacity; High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Experience with the following donors will be valued: ECHO, COSUDE, BHA, AECID.

Educational Background:
A university degree in social sciences, development, international relations, or a related field is required for this position. Candidates should demonstrate strong writing skills and the ability to engage in decision-making processes effectively. A solid understanding of the humanitarian system and its operations is essential, along with analytical capabilities and excellent communication skills.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in the field of specialization, particularly in project management within the humanitarian sector. Candidates should have experience working with humanitarian and development donors and partners, as well as a good understanding of donor rules and regulations. Experience in report and proposal writing is crucial, along with strong communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills. The ability to mediate in high-stress scenarios with competing interests is also important.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, with a certification level of C
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English are essential for this role. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not explicitly required.
