Job Overview:
The Information Management Associate will play a critical role in supporting UNFPA Nigeria's humanitarian program and inter-agency coordination in information management. This position requires a proactive approach to data collection and management, ensuring that information on gender-based violence (GBV) is effectively analyzed and utilized throughout the humanitarian program cycle. The associate will engage in robust analyses of secondary data, consolidate existing assessments, and conduct new assessments as necessary to determine the scope of GBV. Collaboration with national and international GBV actors is essential, as is the ability to train partner organizations in the use of standardized reporting forms. The associate will also be responsible for producing analytical reports, information products, and ensuring effective communication and knowledge sharing among GBV partners. This role demands a strong commitment to ethical standards and a survivor-centered approach to GBV programming.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Information Management Associate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: conducting data collection and management in line with ethical guidelines; analyzing secondary data to identify trends in GBV; consolidating assessments and conducting participatory analyses; mapping institutional response capacities; developing and training partners on standardized reporting forms; preparing analytical reports on emerging issues; producing/updating information products such as reports and presentations; ensuring effective communication and networking among GBV partners; and providing accurate information for budget preparation and program evaluation. The associate will also be expected to maintain databases on GBV products and facilitate knowledge sharing with stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in information/data science, statistics, GIS, demography, economics, social sciences, ICT, communication, development studies, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience in a related area may also be considered. Additionally, candidates should have at least 5 years of relevant post-graduation working experience, particularly in information management for the humanitarian sector. Professional experience with GBV or protection in emergencies is highly desirable, along with familiarity with data analysis tools and software.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as information/data science, statistics, GIS, demography, economics, social sciences, ICT, communication, or development studies is required. Candidates with equivalent combinations of education and experience in related areas may also be considered. The educational background should provide a solid foundation for understanding data management and analysis in the context of humanitarian work.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant post-graduation working experience, particularly in information management within the humanitarian sector. Experience with GBV programming and a demonstrated understanding of monitoring and evaluation processes are essential. Familiarity with data analysis, reporting, and the use of information management tools is also required.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, and some knowledge of Hausa is required. Candidates should be able to communicate effectively in both languages to engage with diverse stakeholders and partners in the region.

Additional Notes:
This consultancy assignment is full-time and will last for a duration of six months. It is specifically open to Nigerian nationals. The successful candidate will be provided with a working space and office equipment, as well as travel and DSA-related expenses.
