Job Overview:
The logistics-officer" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Logistics Officer position is crucial for the effective management of logistics operations within the Maiduguri Area Office of Nigeria. The job holder will report to the Head of Logistics and will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting information to enhance the efficiency of logistics activities. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively with a team. The Logistics Officer will lead a team focused on Cash Based Transfers (CBT), ensuring compliance with WFP guidelines and facilitating smooth operations. The position also involves coordinating assessments, overseeing contractual processes with retailers, and contributing to logistics planning and processes. The Logistics Officer will play a key role in supporting the delivery of food assistance to beneficiaries, ensuring that logistics operations are aligned with WFP's mission and standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise the Cash Based Transfer (CBT) team, ensuring effective teamwork and task execution. Plan and monitor monthly redemption cycles while adhering to WFP corporate guidelines.
• Oversee contractual processes between WFP and retailers to ensure compliance and efficiency in operations.
• Coordinate micro/macro assessments and Retailer Onboarding and Contracting (ROC) interventions, ensuring smooth implementation and compliance with logistics policies.
• Contribute to the development of logistics plans and processes, ensuring alignment with WFP standards.
• Support logistics projects and day-to-day operations, contributing to the effective delivery of food assistance.
• Collect and analyze data to recommend actions for improving local logistics operations.
• Conduct analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">financial analysis and budget reviews, providing insights to optimize fund usage.
• Guide support staff and act as a point of referral for queries and analysis.
• Prepare accurate and timely reports on logistics activities for informed decision-making. 1
• Support capacity building for WFP staff and partners to enhance food assistance delivery. 1
• Build productive relationships with logistics colleagues to support integrated food assistance approaches. 1
• Follow emergency logistics preparedness practices to ensure quick response capabilities. 1
• Act in an emergency response capacity as required. 1
• Perform other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in Transport Economics, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field. Alternatively, a first university degree with additional years of relevant work experience and/or training may be accepted. The role requires a minimum of one year of practical professional experience in logistics or a related field, with proven experience in coordinating service provider contracts, arranging supplier deliveries, and evaluating offers. Strong report writing skills are also essential for this position.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree in a relevant field such as Transport Economics, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or Business Management. Candidates with a first university degree and additional relevant work experience or training will also be considered. Experience:
