Job Overview:
The Analyst position at the EBRD's resident office in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, is primarily focused on the energy sector. The role involves contributing to the Bank's mandate in this sector by engaging in debt and equity investments, particularly in renewable power generation projects, as well as gas and electricity storage, transmission, and distribution projects. The Analyst will be involved in all phases of the project cycle, which includes project origination, structuring, execution, implementation, and monitoring. This position requires a proactive approach to tasks assigned by the operation leader or senior project team members, which may encompass comprehensive due diligence, analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with EBRD policies. The Analyst will also be responsible for effective post-signing implementation and monitoring of projects, ensuring that all tasks are completed within specified time frames and to a high standard.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Analyst's duties include working as a project team member on transactions, contributing to project structuring and execution, conducting comprehensive research and analysis of market information and financial performance data, and evaluating potential risks associated with proposed projects. The Analyst will assist in designing technical cooperation assistance, preparing terms of reference, and internal approval documentation. Communication with internal units, clients, and stakeholders is also a key responsibility, including drafting correspondence and presentations. Additionally, the Analyst will undertake tasks related to project implementation and monitoring, ensuring compliance with project agreements and Bank procedures, preparing monitoring reports, and making recommendations for corrective actions. The role is designed to allow the Analyst to progressively take on more complex tasks and expand their responsibilities based on experience and expertise.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree, with a Master's degree preferred or equivalent experience in relevant fields. Professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA are desirable. Strong quantitative and numerical skills are essential, along with the ability to interpret financial information and design financial models. Candidates should have credit analysis skills, a good understanding of local and international accounting principles, and be computer literate, particularly in Microsoft Office and spreadsheet applications. The ability to work effectively as part of a team and meet deadlines under pressure is crucial, as are excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Proficiency in the local language is an advantage.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred, as it provides a deeper understanding of the complexities involved in financial analysis and project management. Candidates with relevant professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA will have an added advantage, as these credentials demonstrate a commitment to the field and a higher level of expertise.

Experience:
Relevant experience in the financial industry is essential for this position. Candidates should have a background in investment or commercial banking, private equity, asset management, or auditing/financial consulting, ideally operating to international standards. A solid understanding of the energy sector, particularly in renewables and electricity grid infrastructure, is preferred. Experience engaging with state agencies and state-owned enterprises in the energy sector will be considered an advantage, as will exposure to industry and country-specific knowledge.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the EBRD. Proficiency in the local language of Kyrgyzstan is considered an advantage, as it facilitates better communication with local stakeholders and enhances the Analyst's effectiveness in the role.
