Job Overview:
The Finance and Budget Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the Finance and Budget Officers within the Executive Office of the Secretary-General. This position involves assisting in the development of resource requirements for budget submissions, preparing supporting documents for budget proposals, and conducting research to aid in budget reviews. The assistant will monitor expenditures against the approved budget, make recommendations for adjustments, and ensure compliance with financial regulations. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Finance and Budget Assistant will undertake a variety of duties, including but not limited to: providing support for the development of resource requirements for budget submissions; preparing narrative and supporting tables for cost estimates and budget proposals; conducting research and providing support to Finance and Budget Officers; monitoring expenditures and making recommendations for adjustments; reviewing and analyzing financial reports; assisting with transactions in the Umoja Grants Management Module; consolidating data for cost plan reviews; preparing requisitioning documents in UMOJA; ensuring accuracy of financial information; preparing monthly expenditure reports; managing trust funds and monitoring voluntary contributions; drafting routine correspondence related to financial matters; and maintaining up-to-date files. The assistant will also perform other related duties as assigned, demonstrating a commitment to the organization's goals and objectives.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of seven years of experience in finance, budget, accounting, or administrative services is required. Extensive experience in using Microsoft software, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, is essential. Familiarity with SAP systems is necessary, and experience with the Finance Module and Grants Management Module in Umoja is desirable. Knowledge of the Grantor Module, IPMR, and BPC is also beneficial. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of financial regulations and procedures within the UN environment, as well as the ability to analyze and interpret financial data effectively.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is a high school diploma or equivalent. While no specific job-related qualifications are mentioned, candidates with additional certifications or training in finance, accounting, or related fields may have an advantage in the selection process.

Experience:
