Job Overview: The Protection from Violence Officer will primarily focus on delivering effective services to individuals affected by violence, ensuring a safe and supportive environment in compliance with NRC policies and the Protection from Violence Core Competency strategy. This role involves implementing and managing the Protection from Violence project, working closely with individuals and communities to provide essential support, resources, and advocacy. The officer will be responsible for case management, individual protection assistance, and promoting the rights of affected populations, aligning with NRC's advocacy strategy. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying and addressing the needs of vulnerable individuals, particularly in the West Bank, with a focus on Hebron and surrounding neighborhoods.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Protection from Violence Officer will carry out a range of duties, including but not limited to: implementing technical activities of the Core Competency CC project(s), providing protection case management and individual protection assistance in accordance with NRC guidelines, conducting intake and assessments, creating and implementing client-centered case plans, and following up on these plans in a timely manner. The officer will also provide psychosocial-support" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">psychosocial support and referrals as needed, identify high-risk cases of adults facing harm and rights violations, and report achievements and challenges to the Protection from Violence Coordinator. Additionally, the officer will prepare procurement or payment requests for material assistance, participate in mapping exercises and assessments to identify the needs of vulnerable populations, and coordinate with service providers to enhance assistance and referral mechanisms.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess strong organizational skills, the ability to meet deadlines, and the capability to work independently while prioritizing tasks under pressure. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook is required. A high level of written and verbal communication skills in both English and Arabic is essential. Candidates should have at least two years of experience in social work or case management support, preferably in a humanitarian setting, and a technical diploma or degree in social work, human rights, or a related field. Knowledge of human rights and protection issues, particularly concerning vulnerable individuals, is crucial. Previous training in counseling and psychosocial support is strongly preferred.

Languages: Fluency in both English and Arabic is mandatory, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.
Additional Notes: The position is based in the West Bank, specifically in Nablus or Tulkarem, and is classified as Grade (05) Step (01). The contract duration is for 12 months, renewable based on the needs of the position, funding availability, and performance.
