Job Overview:
The consultant will work under the Child Protection Team within the Programme Division at UNICEF's New York Headquarters. The role focuses on supporting the dissemination and development of the Caring for Child Survivors of Sexual Abuse Resource Package, which aims to enhance the capacity of service providers to offer quality care to child survivors of sexual abuse. The consultant will also contribute to the development of technical resources related to gender-based violence (GBV) in emergencies, ensuring that the resources are adapted for various crisis settings. The position requires collaboration with local service providers and international organizations to promote resource dissemination and support the implementation of GBV risk mitigation strategies.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support the dissemination of the CCS resource package, ensuring effective communication and engagement with local service providers.
  • Provide technical advice for the implementation of a global initiative to strengthen local capacity on CCS, including the launch of the CCS roll-out in additional UN languages.
  • Facilitate the development and dissemination of UNICEF GBViE technical resources, including training materials and e-learning modules.
  • Conduct quarterly global CCS Partners Meetings to promote resource dissemination and collaboration among stakeholders.
  • Review and provide feedback on country proposals for rolling out CCS resources.
  • Support the development of GBViE products, including technical reviews of service delivery resources.
  • Ensure that all deliverables are completed on time and meet UNICEF's quality standards.

Required Qualifications:
  • Advanced University Degree (Masters) in public health, social work, political science, human rights, law" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">international law, or a related field.
  • At least 8 to 10 years of program management experience, with a minimum of 5 years in GBV programming or coordination in humanitarian contexts.
  • Demonstrated experience in GBV case management and knowledge of the Caring for Child Survivors Resources.
  • Proven ability to develop e-learning tools and remote capacity development resources.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
  • Excellent drafting skills for external communication and documentation.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess an Advanced University Degree (Masters) in relevant fields such as public health, social work, political science, human rights, or international law. Equivalent programming experience may also be considered.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 8 to 10 years of program management experience, specifically in GBV programming and coordination within humanitarian settings. At least 5 years of direct experience in implementing GBV programs is required, along with a strong understanding of GBV case management and its intersections with information management.

Languages:
Fluency in English and French is required. Proficiency in Spanish and/or Arabic is considered an asset for this role, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders and communities.

  • The consultant will be required to travel to emergency-affected contexts as necessary. Payment will be based on the submission of satisfactory deliverables, and UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment if standards are not met. Candidates must have current health insurance coverage at the time of contract award. The selected candidate must also confirm their fully vaccinated status against COVID-19, although this requirement does not apply to those working remotely.
