Job Description
Job Posting Organization:
UNICEF, established in 1946, operates in 190 countries and territories, focusing on the welfare of children and advocating for their rights. In Chile, UNICEF has been active since 1950, working to ensure the full respect of children's rights and promoting societal transformation since the 1990s.

Job Overview:
The Data Analysis and Reporting Intern will be responsible for analyzing the results of the year-end retention campaign, measuring compliance, reach, and variations compared to previous versions. Over a period of three months, the intern must ensure reliable information for decision-making and the final evaluation of the campaign. The role involves collecting and systematizing quantitative and qualitative data related to campaign performance, coordinating with the retention team and external agencies, organizing databases, and constructing relevant indicators for tracking results. The intern will also evaluate the level of goal compliance, identify gaps between planned and executed actions, and provide critical insights. Additionally, the intern will conduct comparative analyses with previous campaigns, detect trends, and explore external factors influencing results. The role requires generating periodic reports using tools like Excel, Power BI, or SPSS, and presenting findings clearly to various audiences.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Data Collection and Systematization: Gather quantitative and qualitative information related to campaign performance (retention rates, effective contact, message type, etc.). Coordinate with the retention team and external agencies to obtain necessary inputs. Organize databases and build relevant indicators for tracking results.
  • Compliance Analysis: Evaluate the level of compliance with established goals (e.g., percentage of renewed partners, retained income, response by channel). Identify gaps between planned and executed actions, providing a critical and constructive perspective.
  • Comparative Analysis: Conduct comparative analyses with previous versions of the year-end campaign. Detect trends, behavioral changes, and accumulated learnings. Explore external factors (economic, political, social context) that may influence results.
  • Report Generation and Visualization: Create periodic progress reports using tools like Excel, Power BI, or SPSS. Prepare a final report with conclusions, graphs, and recommendations for planning the following year. Present findings clearly to different audiences (internal team, strategic partners, agencies).
  • Quality Assurance: Validate the consistency and accuracy of analyzed data. Apply best practices in handling and safeguarding sensitive information. Promote evidence-based decision-making.
  • Recommendations and Improvement Proposals: Provide a sociological perspective on findings: what do the data tell us about motivations, barriers, and profiles of our partners? Propose methodological improvements and strategies for segmentation or messaging for future campaigns.

Required Qualifications:
To be considered for the internship, applicants must meet the following requirements: be enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in sociology or commercial engineering; be at least 18 years old; have a strong command of the working language of UNICEF's office in Chile, which is Spanish; proficiency in another language is valued; demonstrate excellent academic performance with recent university records; have no immediate relatives (e.g., parent, sibling) working in any UNICEF office; and no other relatives in the reporting line to which the intern will report. Additional consideration will be given for any past experience.

Educational Background:
Applicants must be currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in sociology or commercial engineering. Academic excellence must be demonstrated through recent academic records from the university or institution.

Experience:
While specific experience is not mandatory, any relevant past experience will be considered favorably during the selection process. The internship is designed for students or recent graduates, so practical experience in data analysis or related fields is advantageous but not required.

Languages:
The primary language required for this position is Spanish, as it is the working language of UNICEF's office in Chile. Proficiency in another language is considered a valuable asset and may enhance the candidate's application.

Additional Notes:
The internship duration is three months, with a start date between September and November. The position is hybrid, requiring full-time dedication. The monthly remuneration is CLP $500,000 gross, against an invoice. Selected candidates are responsible for ensuring that their visa (if applicable) and health insurance are valid throughout the contract period. Candidates must confirm their full vaccination status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a WHO-supported vaccine before starting the assignment. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the next stage of the selection process.
