Job Overview:
CIMMYT is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and service-oriented professional to join the Engagement Chapter team as a Grants Management Analyst. This position is crucial for maintaining annual fundraising levels at USD 250 million through 202
  • The Grants Management Analyst will implement strategies to achieve Engagement Chapter KPIs related to resource mobilization and will be responsible for delivering on individual work plans as well as multi-year plans within the DFS team. The role requires ensuring consistent application of institutional grant management policies and procedures, identifying and mapping key risks across the DFS area, and contributing to the development and implementation of effective risk mitigation strategies. The analyst will also support the prospecting process for new funding opportunities and strengthen multi-partner collaborations through cultivation and stewardship efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Grants Management Analyst will execute Grants Management operational plans, ensuring effective coordination throughout the grant-project cycle, including monthly reconciliation meetings. Responsibilities include managing grant-related information, records, documentation, and archiving in a timely and accurate manner, producing monthly pipeline and aging reports, and managing the Unit email account for tracking and monitoring requests. The analyst will also improve departmental functioning by developing templates, updating the DFS Grant management Manual, and building capacity on DFS processes within the unit and with internal and external clients. Coordination of grant management steps along the project cycle is essential, including quality control, compliance with funder requirements, and serving as the main coordination point for grant-related audits. The analyst will track the submission status of PM Minimums documentation, maintain a centralized PM Minimums tracker, and oversee centralized storage of project documentation while preparing compliance reports and flagging documentation risks.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a master’s degree in public administration, International Development, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in grant management, donor-funded project coordination, financial and technical reporting, or working with international non-profit or research organizations is required. Candidates should have an advanced level of English language proficiency, with a minimum score of C2 as per CEFR expected on an administered English test. A good knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures within a project management discipline is essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PPT, Outlook) and ERP Systems. The selected candidate must demonstrate competencies in critical thinking, creative thinking, communication, customer orientation, teamwork, problem-solving and decision-making, negotiation, and conflict resolution.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a master’s degree in public administration, International Development, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field. This advanced degree is essential to equip the candidate with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively manage grants and coordinate donor-funded projects.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in grant management, donor-funded project coordination, financial and technical reporting, or working with international non-profit or research organizations. This level of experience is crucial for understanding the complexities of grant management and ensuring compliance with funder requirements.

Languages:
The mandatory language for this position is English, with an advanced level required (C2 as per CEFR). This proficiency will be assessed through an English test. While English is the primary language, knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders.
