Job Overview:
The Administrative and Budgetary Committee Support Officer will play a crucial role in organizing and coordinating preparatory meetings for the Fifth Committee and CPC sessions. This position requires a proactive approach to ensure that all procedural and organizational arrangements are in place for successful meetings and conferences. The incumbent will assist in drafting procedural notes, ensuring the availability of necessary services, and maintaining reference materials. The role also involves reporting on proceedings, preparing lists of participants, and managing databases related to meetings. The officer will be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues and delegations, demonstrating professionalism and a commitment to gender equality in all aspects of work.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent will be responsible for a wide range of duties including organizing preparatory meetings, drafting procedural notes, ensuring document availability, maintaining reference materials, reporting on committee proceedings, producing meeting schedules, supervising voting processes, preparing agenda items, maintaining databases, conducting research for briefs, ensuring compliance with UN document standards, attending planning meetings, preparing seating arrangements, drafting correspondence, maintaining filing systems, responding to queries, and participating in recruitment and training of temporary assistants. The role requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure while meeting deadlines.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. A first-level university degree or higher can reduce the required work experience. The position requires a minimum of seven years of experience in administration and conference servicing, with five years being acceptable for candidates with a relevant degree. Experience in servicing intergovernmental meetings, managing website content, and using conference planning tools is desirable. Knowledge of UN conference policies and procedures is essential, along with the ability to research and summarize information effectively.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is a high school diploma or equivalent. Candidates with a first-level university degree or higher will have a reduced experience requirement, making them more competitive for the role. The educational background should ideally include coursework or training related to administration, management, or international relations, which would provide a solid foundation for the responsibilities of the position.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of seven years of relevant experience in administration and conference servicing. For candidates with a first-level university degree or higher, the experience requirement is reduced to five years. Desirable experience includes servicing intergovernmental meetings, familiarity with voting procedures, and managing online databases and content. Candidates should also have experience in using conference planning tools and understanding policies and procedures related to conferences.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required for this position, as it is one of the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as French, is considered an advantage and may enhance a candidate's competitiveness for the role. Effective communication skills in both written and spoken forms are essential for success in this position.
